Didn't know whether to venture into this cafe as it looks small. The service is quick, the food choice and quality is excellent and has a great atmosphere to meet up with friends and catch up on gossip. I was in York for two days and used this lovely cafe two days in a row. Toilets inside to. Outstanding keep up the good work girls

Amazing little gem tucked away just for someone as lucky as us to find. Or so we thought. Though we might have been early enough to get in quickly, it wasn't long before there were several waiting outside for their turn. A small shop with a small cook area but they put on a show when the table fare was spread. I got the traditional English breakfast. Yummy!

Lovely little cosy tearoom in the heart of York. Really nice latte as well. Food was really nice, loved the Brie and bacon panini. Fruit scone was scrumptious. If you want traditional come here. Fantastic ????????

Good location. The best scones I've tried. Delicious tea. I could give you 4 stars for that young waitress who was chewing gum really ostentatiously at all times during our visit.

Me and my son prefer such quaint and cosy tea room. We went around 3pm+ on a weekday and ordered 2 sets of tea + scone. We love the scones. We were not snubbed cos of our small order. In fact the girls are very polite and we feel very welcomed. Highly recommended.

Very rude staff. Was made to feel very unwelcome upon entering and we were asked to leave because we only wanted coffee. Food looked very bland and unappealing. We instead went across to York Cocoa Works and had a delightful coffee served by polite friendly staff

Just to be clear for the illiterate owners of this cafe. Your sign said ‘only serving food and drinks’ it did not say that both food and drinks must be ordered and that drinks alone would. Or be enough. £5 bill might not be worth your time, and I can understand that, but don’t be rude to customers because you can’t communicate properly with your signage. I even tried to help you by explaining that your sign did not communicate the message that your rude waitress fumbled through, but instead of listening we were met with a blank confusion and insistence that she is right simply because she believes it so. The tone of your reply on this post does not surprise me. More of the same attitude that we unfortunately encountered. We had a great day and we didn’t let your bad customer service change that. The service and coffee was so pleasant at the York Cocoa works we also stayed for food. We too were very glad to give them out money!

A wonderful little cafe nestled in York's historic back streets. Good sized portions, food hot, satisfying and reasonably priced. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
