Absolutely fab.
Visiting friends in Trefonen just had a meal. Lovely manager Robyn a credit to the pub. Xxxx
First time here i took some of my family here for a meal and all of us was very pleased with wat we had
Staying in the area and it was my birthday so decided to have a meal out. What a lovely pub and lovely people. Was a Friday night and it was busy. Was a rather large party booked in at a similar time to us but the staff were very honest that we may have to wait a while... Which we didn't mind at all. Food was superb. I was absolutely full at the end. A good selection of ale on tap. This was the only night we had a meal but had called in a couple of times before just for a drink. Would definitely go again when next in the area.
Lovely quaint pub with excellent food and wonderful service
Excellent food very friendly and helpful staff and reasonably good value for money. Recommend
Had the Sunday carvery with my son after walking Offa's dyke. Brilliant service and food. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go back.

Quick Facts About Barley Mow Inn

The Barley Mow Inn has received a range of comments, both positive and negative, which provide insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment. It is important to analyze these comments in order to form a comprehensive understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the pub.
Starting with the strengths, one recurring positive aspect of the Barley Mow Inn is its car park. Reviewers consistently mention the ample parking space available, which is seen as a positive attribute. This is important as it allows ease of access for patrons, making it more convenient for them to visit the pub.
Another strength highlighted by comments is the ambiance of the pub. The Barley Mow Inn is described as a lovely old establishment, which creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The mention of it being "nice and warm after a long walk" further emphasizes the comfort and charm of the pub. This contributes to a positive overall experience for patrons, making them more likely to return in the future.
Additionally, the staff at the Barley Mow Inn received positive praise from several reviewers. Words such as "helpful," "friendly," and "wonderful" were used to describe them. This is a significant strength for the pub, as excellent customer service can greatly enhance the overall experience for patrons. It also indicates that the management is dedicated to providing a high level of service.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one common complaint is the quality of the food. Several reviewers mentioned that the food was not special, with limited options such as only having beef gravy for different meats. This suggests that the variety and creativity of the menu may be lacking. Furthermore, the mention of a "miss match of veg" indicates that the presentation and attention to detail in food preparation may need improvement.
Another weakness mentioned by a reviewer is the temperature of the meal. They stated that the food was cold when served, which is a significant issue that needs to be addressed. It is crucial for a pub to serve hot and fresh food to meet customer expectations and provide a satisfactory dining experience.
However, it should be noted that the Yorkshire pudding and pudding desserts received positive comments, indicating that there are aspects of the food that are enjoyed by customers. These positive aspects should be maintained and highlighted to attract more customers.
Another weakness that emerged from the comments is the need for improvement in serving the food promptly. A reviewer mentioned that the pub should focus on getting the food out hot, suggesting that there may be delays or inefficiencies in the kitchen. This is an important aspect to address, as it can greatly impact the overall dining experience and customer satisfaction.
Lastly, the lack of comments on the drinks served at the pub indicates that this aspect was not notable, neither positively nor negatively. While this may not necessarily be a weakness, it suggests that the pub may not be particularly known for its drink selection or may not heavily emphasize this aspect.
In conclusion, the strengths of the Barley Mow Inn include its spacious car park, cozy ambiance, and helpful staff. On the other hand, weaknesses include the quality and variety of the food, issues with temperature consistency, and the need for improvement in the promptness of food service. By addressing these weaknesses while continuing to highlight and build upon their strengths, the Barley Mow Inn can attract and retain satisfied customers.
