Decent little place, the lovely female staff are very friendly and professional however the landlord is a puzzling character. He has a reputation locally as a bit of a woman’s man even though he looks like Claude Greengrass from Heartbeat.

But on the whole a good solid establishment I would say. Cheers.

I just wanted to say Thankyou very much to the lady who was in this afternoon. (May 18,2022) around 3/4pm.

My kid who is autistic/nonverbal was in pain wanted to go for a quick toilet. As we are on a travel for another 4 hours back home, he doesn’t want to go on the bush because of his condition. As a mum who’s on panic mode I stopped by to this pub,I am having anxiety to go in but I have no choice to ask if it’s okay to use their toilet, and she was so kind to let us in.

When my boy was finish, the lady got busy on the bar but I told her Thankyou so much.

I feel bad I did not by anything,but she saves my panic attack and I can breathe going back to the road.

I’m just so thankful she let me in even I’m not local or to buy a pint.

The nicest lady noticed i was alone after my partner had left and made sure I was going to get home safely. I can't thank her enough. She also got some water for my dog very thoughtfully. You are so kind and I wish you all the best lovely person xxx

Nice pub, I liked it. Bigger and more atmosphere inside than I thought from driving past it for many years without ever going in. A nice pool table, free on Wednesdays, friendly staff. If you are ever in Shelton and want a break or refreshment, you could do a lot worse than popping into the Charlton.

We headed for town and ended up here and were so happy we did. We were welcomed like regulars with friendly staff, great service and very welcoming clientel. Best pub we've been to in a very long time. We will be back

Lovely pub, great position, car park, kebab caravan, chip shop and co op right there!!

Bit pricy for shorts !? But generally good place, well looked after !!!
