Had a stroke at 35. The owner helped me learn to do my eyeliner one handed and gave me a free cut and color. It was really tough living in a nursing home at 35. So this meant everything to me. This was in 2012 and I’m doing amazing now. But her kindness will never leave me. Thank you for that!
I went twice in the span of 3 weeks. The first time was to get my bangs redone and babyhairs on my neckline removed. My stylist, Kelsea, was the absolute best. At this point I had about 30 inches of hair, so all of the girls in the salon were talking about that. I mentioned I wanted to donated and why, and Kelsea told me all about how they do hair donations for Kids with Hair Loss. I was so excited. I came back after my wedding, and Kelsea helped me realize a dream I've had for 20 years. I was able to donate 14 inches. After the length was off, and we were washing my hair, she let me have a moment to just cry. The emotional weight finally hit me and she assured me the whole time. It was an amazing experience all around, and I couldn't be more grateful to Kelsea and the entire staff.
I used to shy away from salons, due to past experiences and the prices. Pinups is great in the sense that I never once felt pressured to buy anything. Kelsea asked about my hair, used a great shampoo that worked great on my dandruffy scalp, and said that she had some if I wanted it, and that was that. And the prices were the best. Most salons, a wash and a cut for me costs $60 without tip. $40 all together, that included a good tip. I would give 100 stars if I could.
Not personable to me. I was made to feel like an intruder. No offer to wash my hair, no chit chat, not going back. This is exactly why I RARELY go to a salon.
Melinda is by far the best hair stylist I’ve ever had! She also is a great person which is a win-win for whoever has the pleasure to sit in her chair.
Went here because of the reviews. In hindsight, I should have asked for Amanda, but I didn't. Mom and I went in for back to back haircuts. I was up first. The gal was very nice but seemed inexperienced. My cut turned out ok. Next was Mom. She has very fine hair. She wanted a clean pixie style haircut. All I can say is, it looks like someone hacked it with a knife. I could see her holding back tears when we left. When we got home, the first thing she did was put on a hat, to hide her cut. I feel awful. We won't be going back sadly. The atmosphere at Pinups was fun, and all the gals there were very nice and friendly. Lesson here is, when looking for a new stylist/beautician, ask for someone with experience.
Seriously the best haircut I've ever had. I went in with a picture of a style I liked and Amanda knew exactly how to cut my hair to give my curl more bounce. She asked all the right questions. I was in and out in 20 minutes and couldn't be happier.
I am very picky about my hair. I have went to the same lady for years but moved here a couple years ago. I still made the hour one way commute to get a hair cut, missing a half a day of work. Yesterday I stepped out of my box and believe I just found another amazing stylist. I will definitely be back!
Looks a little trendy, but Amanda is super good with older styles and covering thinner hair. Everyone is really nice. Wash, cut, and style in about 20 minutes.
