DO NOT RECOMMEND!! my sister and i went to this nail salon tonight, the two guys who did our nails made our hands bleed, and burn. we got told it should be about $30 per person for a fill. ended up being $87 and they did not share they didnt take card till AFTER we got them done.we just got home from our appointment and my sisters nail polish is literally chipping off.
I moved away from Salem and have been trying salons around my area being charged over $60 for my fills and finally decided to just make the drive to Salem for my nails again. And yet again tony at modern nails has done an amazing job. I just did a basic color to correct the awful job my last salon did and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you tony and everyone at modern nails for being amazing. $35 for nearly redo my nails from the beginning is outstanding.
I use to go here on a regular basis. Victor is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately he was not available today. I showed the gentleman a picture of what I wanted and was told that they couldn't do it. It was a black to maroon ombre in a long oval shape with two high french tips. I changed my mind because they weren't able to do what I wanted and instead I went with all maroon and two high french tips. Long story short here. My nails are not straight. He only did one coat of paint on the tips. The paint job itself could be much better. There are bubbles in the top coat and he didn't even put top coat on one of my nails. I was very nice during the appointment and asked him to fix a couple things, which he did but I was still not happy with the outcome. When I called to let them know that he did in fact miss a nail of top coat, they offered to have me come back in and put top coat on. I let then let them know what else I was unhappy with and requested a repaint. They asked if I could come right back (3p) and I let them know that I could come back in at 4p (I needed to confirm that I had childcare). When my childcare plans were set, I called and asked if I could come in now (3:15p). They said they didn't have time now and then continued to push for 4pm. I then asked if I could come back in tomorrow and set a time for 10am. A few minutes later I got a call back and was asked if I wanted the same nail tech or a different one. I asked for a different tech and was told that I would have to come in at 1p instead. I know this isn't horrible but this is not the service I am use with them. This is very unfortunate.
I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I am so disappointed in the service that I received. The woman who did my nails stopped in the middle and proceeded to cut someone’s hair. I sat there, wondering where she went, and a gentleman took over and finished. No big deal, I understand sometimes you over book. However, it’s been two days and I noticed my nails are already lifted. I’m typing at work today and two of them broke!
I was never informed that they only take cash. NO WHERE in there does it say CASH ONLY. They have a ATM in their store and then they charge you three dollars on top of that? I will not be going back. I ended up popping my nails off, they literally popped off. Very disappointing.
This place was alright. I got the shellac with nail polish and the shellac on my nails doesn't look even. Especially on both my middle fingers. As it usually is, the workers were all Asian which is fine, but only a few of them understood any English. I couldn't explain to them that I needed some things on my nails fixed. I felt their prices were higher than other places, and they do not accept card so you have to use their ATM which charges a fee.
Such nice ladies! Mom and I came in for pedicures and decided to get manicures done afterwards
The ladies were very nice and paid special attention to the quality of their work. Definitely going to come back next time I am in Salem and need a simple mani pedi ❤️ Thank you!!
Very nice and clean place. The employees were nice as well. Kind of disappointed that my pedicure took 14 minutes but, I didn’t want polish and my toes were pretty much cleaned up! I guess I’m disappointed the massage was short and sweet and not a lot of pressure was added. But other than that I had a great experience!
Tom did an amazing job on my nails considering I’m an extreme nail biter and have big thumbs. Thank you I love them. Definitely going back for my fill :)
