Great place with lots of independent shops. Lots of variety to choose from.

Got to go to Andrew's Butcher when visiting Maesteg. His meat is fantastic

Mainly visit for charity bookshop. Large selection of books and all paperbacks only 50p. Also great family butchers and a specialist food shop with high quality farm produce.

Lovely little market. Although very different from what it was 20 years ago it's still worth a visit. Make sure to pop into Casey's cafe for a cuppa and a fry up. You won't regret it.

This used to be a great market but it is dead now waste of time going

Like most markets under used small number of shops but of good quality.

At present the town hall adjacent to the market is having major refurbishment.So there's no open air market

Sadly another example of a once bustling outdoor and indoor market that once drew large crowds to the town (especially on a Friday) that's been ruined by "experts" within the council. The indoor market is currently closed, there are plans we understand to convert the indoor market (or part?) into a library. There is however a small outdoor market area (sometimes used for small events) with some very good permanent units, butcher's (outstanding), key cutting etc, also some seating.

Vast experience of this market over 40 yrs. It used to have a magical character which has been ruined by Bridged council who closed the historical indoor market to force the stallholders to take their new expensive shops outside. Which they've done, reluctantly. Its all very nice and clean and modern.....but will it last? Time will tell. There is a Friday outdoor market here which is good when the weather is. Having said all that, Its still worth s try. You may be surprised by seeing a twinkle of magic returning. But not thanks to Bridged council.
