Is hard to rate this place as I went in when the shop was almost closing so had to take what was left. The fish would have been nice if it was fresh cooked and the chips had been sitting too long so we're greasy. But I repeat we did go in twenty minutes before the shop was due to close
As it’s Friday I always treat myself to fish n chips.
I will use this Gormans until the other branch reopens at Cowgate.
This one is ok, nothing special. However as these are not fried to order I would recommend going during business periods so you don’t get food that has sat on the hot plates above the fryers. Otherwise you get home with a Luke warm to cold take away.
AWFUL. I asked if the fish were fresh out the oven was told yes. Fresh yesterday probably it was awful even the dog wouldn't eat it and he eats anything. Won't be back! they used to be worth the money
10 quid for Fish N Chips. Wouldn’t mind if they tasted nice, but I’m sorry it was not worth the money.
Obviously sat under the heaters for too long as it was dried out.
Cook to order if you haven’t to foot fall. Won’t be going back. To think I used to rate this place
Judging by the reviews it’s on a slippery slope
Got 2 haddocks plus 1 chips and large mashy peas. It cost almost £20. The haddock tasted of ammonia. Threw them away!!! Chips were not up to standard. Mashy peas were nice. Very disappointed with the fish!!!! Hope I don't fall sick!!!
This chippy has gone down hill.
Prices have gone up silly amounts.
They refuse to cook anything within the last 30minutes of opening that's even if they're open. I've visited several times during their opening hours to find the place closed or locked up.
The staff all seem really grumpy too.
Also doesn't take card.
I was working in Newcastle and passed this fish shop.
Food was fresh, cooked properly and very nice at a good price
Would recommend to anyone.
Dry fish & chips £10????used to be one of the best..now one of the worst...would never return.☹️
