First, thry do an excellent job of keeping a hygienic environment for a buffet. Patrons must wear a mask and plastic gloves when serving themselves. There are robust sneeze guards everywhere. The food is not bad and the price for a good feed is good for downtown Glasgow. The buffet food basically sits for too long without enough turnover to get replenished regularly enough. So the dishes, while many, are all stewed to death. While the Brits probably find this completely normal, Americans do not! Unfortunately, the decor is as bland as the food. The table layout is more creative at McDonald's. There is a lot of food but absolutely nothing there that says wow. The service is pretty good. Your plates are cleared away efficiently. With tip and tea, we spent 20 pounds for lunch. The dinner prices are much higher. The ice cream was honestly some of the most flavorless varieties that I have ever tasted. I am quite full so a big guy need not leave hungry. That is a feat worth mentioning.
All you can eat Chinese buffet with very good safety measures in place during Covid. Friendly staff and good selection of food and lots of desserts. Convenient location in Glasgow centre. Very nice place overall.
Very clean bathrooms, very attentive staff, however the food variety isn't necessarily enough for a buffet. no seafood choices, no duck, no "weird things" a Chinese cuisine usually includes.( Like frog legs, or other things like that).
I will recommend for people who like to taste safe foods. Mainly made of chicken
It's okay if you want a quick fix of asian food, but price v choice is poor. We went specifically for the evening menu, most places like this tend to have a better option of food like threaded duck, good variety of sea food options etc but there was nothing like that. I'd love to see what was different to the evening and day time menu. Standard option of currys, sweat and sour dishes, sundry's but no stand out dishes that is say justify the extra you pay.
Hygiene was good however and staff were friendly. I recommend the place but not for an evening meal.
Staff were so nice friendly,,,, food was realy good,,, place was spotless,,, frust time being there defo going again
I’ve been to a few different Chinese buffets but this is by far my favourite. I was so excited to come back here after lockdown. The quality of the food is great, the staff are lovely and it’s good value for money.
Didnt see the chocolate fountain,or the hot pot. Food was good. You get a feeling of home.
Great restaurant with plenty of choices in the buffet. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There's every Chinese dish you could think of. There's two choices of soup. I had the chicken and sweet corn. There's an array of starters. Prawn crackers, ribs ect. There's a choices of sauces satay, curry, sweet and sour. There's a great selection of mains with noodles or rice. The sweet selection is vast and there is also ice cream. In the evening there is a chocolate fountain with skewers of profiterols or marshallows. There's fruit and cake. There is also a small Indian section. The restaurant is on a main road so it can be harder to park. We will definitely be coming back when next in Glasgow

Quick Facts About China Buffet King
China Buffet King has a number of strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. Firstly, the restaurant has put in place excellent safety measures during the Covid pandemic. Customers are required to wear masks and plastic gloves when serving themselves, and there are robust sneeze guards in place to prevent contamination. This focus on hygiene is commendable and provides peace of mind for diners.
Another strength of China Buffet King is its affordability. The price for a good feed is considered reasonable for downtown Glasgow, making it an attractive option for those looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. Additionally, the staff are friendly and attentive, providing good service to customers. The efficiency in clearing plates and the overall attentiveness of the staff enhance the dining experience.
Furthermore, the restaurant is conveniently located in the center of Glasgow, making it easily accessible for customers. The clean bathrooms also contribute to a positive dining experience and demonstrate the restaurant's commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed. One common complaint is that the buffet food often sits for too long without enough turnover to get replenished regularly. This results in dishes that have been stewed for too long and lack freshness. While this may be acceptable to some, others, particularly Americans, may find this unappealing.
Another weakness is the lack of variety in the food selection. Some customers have noted that there are no seafood choices or "weird things" commonly found in Chinese cuisine, such as frog legs. This can be a disappointment for those seeking a more authentic and adventurous dining experience. Additionally, there are complaints about the lack of standout dishes on the menu, especially during evening meals. Customers feel that the price does not justify the limited choices available.
In terms of ambiance, China Buffet King falls short. The decor is described as bland, with a table layout that is said to be more creative at fast food chains like McDonald's. The lack of wow factor in both the food and the atmosphere may leave some customers feeling underwhelmed.
Furthermore, there have been complaints about the flavorless ice cream and the absence of popular items like a chocolate fountain and hot pot. These shortcomings in the dessert section and the lack of certain dishes can detract from the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, China Buffet King has strengths in terms of hygiene, affordability, and friendly staff. However, weaknesses such as the lack of variety in the food selection, the absence of standout dishes, and the plain decor may impact the overall dining experience. Addressing these weaknesses could help improve the restaurant's reputation and attract a wider range of customers.
