No wait times upon arrival. Food was on par with other mom and pop steakhouses. Food was at temperature and steaks were cooked to perfection but nothing special separated this food from the next steakhouse. Service was average. Our waiter never really came around except to bring our initial drinks, drop off the appetizer and the main entrees. Never visited anytime between those events.
The food was really good. It came out hot and everything was fresh and hadn’t been sitting out all day. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I have two gripes, one being our server. He would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time. This didn’t seem like he was busy and was hustling. He was gone. Never saw him rushing around or anything like the other servers. The other gripe is the size of the desserts. They were pretty tiny for the price of $6.99. Overall, it was a good time and if I’m back in that area, we’ll go again.
Heitmiller Steakhouse is one of those places that has been around seemingly forever. A standard in the community. The staff is amazing, friendly, helpful, A+. The food was very good, not great but very good. The steak I had was a little chewy. I will go again just because they have such a reputation. It lives a little in the past and building and menu need a refresh. If you haven't been you do need to try it.
We have not been here in years! We had a party of five on a Thursday evening. Got a booth immediately. Colton was over to get drink and the appetizer orders. Then we gave orders for dinner. Did not have to wait long for food. Colton took good care of us. Food was great!
Bad news: probably never coming back again. Good news: I didn’t try to call the health department. New server didn’t know much about menu, her trainer wasn’t around initially then came out to help when I asked questions she didn’t know. I didn’t see him after that until payment time when he went around the trainee to sneak peek at how much she’s getting for a tip! No one asked how my food was one bit. Now for the food, arrived looking ok once I started eating I noticed it’s cold and dry,
Note that it came out very quickly which lead me to think it was laying around for a while and not Made2order. It wasn’t cooked to Medium standard which they even describe in their menu as pink center, note photo showing a red, yet dry and not even juicy. I’ve made tons of ribeye steaks at home and know how juicy they are when made right, oh also I ordered a 20 oz bone in what I got was less than 20 oz and no bone, again no one bothered to ask how my steak was so I left less than what I normally leave. I have no complaint whatsoever against the trainee but the trainer should know AND do better. My guess is since prices are good, this “steakhouse” has definitely seen better days. Why did I mention health department? About an hour after I left I felt ill and nauseous thankfully it cleared up, I’m a trucker and if it would’ve gotten worse I would’ve gone to a hospital and definitely reported them.
We are from Houston area, visiting Waco. Steak was ok.. Scallops way overcooked, not rinsed b4 cooking, grainy.. waitress = horrible service. Not friendly at all, did not once ask if we needed anything. We had to get another waitress to bring us rolls. We did not know rolls were complimentary until we saw other guests having rolls at their table. I would not come back here. Salt Grass and TX Roadhouse are a far better option. Very disappointed ????
Recommended by my hotel. The 2 stars is for the margaritas. Cold okra and fries. Bland lukewarm fish. Service met minimum requirements. She took my order, brought me my food and drink, brought my check once I asked for it. Location was clean. Not a great first impression. I don't think I will be giving it a second round.
This is the best place to relax and enjoy good company! Kelsey and Megan are wonderful and make delicious drinks. Always a great time and highly recommend!!! The food is perfect comfort on a stressful day!
