Best PlaceJuice Reviews

We brought my nephew in for a haircut and Abraham did an amazing job. He was super attentive to every detail and shaved a cool design into the side of his fade. My nephew is feeling super fly now. All the kids at school are bumping elbows with him and telling him he's "dabbed up" lol.
Was recommended by my long time barber in New York to Artur for a haircut, after moving to Los Angeles. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality, attention to detail, and overall experience. Would recommend AoF, and specifically Artur, to anyone looking for a great haircut for a great price.
This is a review for Kai/Keisha, the woman who oddly rents out the back room of AOF. She has a business called Beauty of the Body Spa Suites.
First of all, It is not a suite or a spa. It’s a back room that’s over-cluttered with weird knick knacks and kitschy gifts that look like they’ve been bought from a gas station or a 99 cent store. Like cheap mini shampoo, post it’s, and colored pencils. She places them in gift bags and tries to promote them as “wellness packages.” She unprofessionally tries to sell you these weird items that nobody would ever care to buy. Just go to the nearest CVS. It’s very weird and desperate. But, hey, we’re in LA. And apparently she’s one of those people who are really trying to make it.
Second, her entire setup is extremely uncomfortable for her customers. There is no privacy for the clients she services in the back room. At all. Whether it’s a hair appointment or spa appointment. The only bathroom in the entire shop, including the barber shop, is in the back room where Keisha’s “spa” is. So during your “spa” appointments you have the men from the barber shop walking back and forth through Kai’s room to use the bathroom while she is doing her spa routines with you. It’s awkward for the men and horrible for the women who are seen in mid procedure.
Keisha, please remove/organize all that clutter and decide whether you want it to be a hair salon or a “spa.”
Ace of Fades has the best quality haircuts at reasonable prices. The barbers there can do a wide range of styles and their fades are exceptional! Their availability is good as well and they are very accommodating.
Ace of Fades is the ace of all fades in barbershop world! Well I'n LA to be exact it's in the heart of melrose. Barbers here are professional and courteous. First time I've been here was maybe sometime last year. But I finally found a barber that I can go to! The journey to find the right barber for your hair is necessary and serious. Atmosphere is a typical barbershop in and out but you don't feel rushed! They take time cutting your hair and finding out your needs. I've gone to two of the barbers here and feel safe in both their hands.
Overall it's a cool spot to people watch while sitting in your chair and observing all the conversations that happen here on melrose!
I recommend Chris, Stephanie, or Artur for your hair needs only cause I've sat in their chair! But I think everyone else is wonderful as well!
I had to look for a barber after moving back to LA from OC. The picture of fades from my local barbers weren’t cutting it, so I was willing to drive further out for a good haircut. This place was worth the drive in LA traffic. It has a bright and welcoming vibe, with barbers that are easy to talk to. The fades here are the best in LA county I’ve had so far. The barbers here will take care of you and have you feeling fresh.
I always get a fresh cut every time I pull up.
In all fairness, I believe that Stephanie did the best that she could. I asked for a .05 with tapered sides, with the grain. What I got was what I asked for, but it wasn't the best quality.
I have stray hairs sticking out of everywhere and the back of my hair looks very blotchy. However that is not why I'm giving them three stars. I'm giving them three stars because from the very beginning, I should have been given an option as to whether I want to have a woman cut my hair or not. Instead, as soon as she picked up the phone she just assigned me to her. That was not cool.
Most men, whether they'd admit it or not, would NOT want a woman cutting their hair...especially black men. My haircut wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best that I've had either. Also, I didn't like the fact that I have to wait outside for an additional 10 minutes while she continued cutting the guy's hair that was before me. This is my first time meeting her so my appointment should have been on time as much as possible.
This place may work for somebody that's new to getting their haircut, but for someone like me, I would not return. Give this business in general a chance, because they are good.
