We been here several times in the past and it was just so-so. Recently, they did a little bit of renovation inside restaurant and it seems they also upgraded their recipes or maybe their chefs/cooks as now their food taste really good. We were pleasantly surprised. The servers are always attentive and very friendly. We will be back sometime soon to check if they keep it up. We really hope they do. Fingers crossed.
The stuff is always great serving up some of the best stuff to Jacksonville has to.offer. You will sign the items as fresh cornbread, white beans, brown beans, greens, chicken livers, fried chicken, and many fixings.
The food here is always served hot and fresh, the buffet is updated regularly and kept clean.
This was a great place to go, lots of good food and people thar care about what they do. They almost lost a star for the restroom, but everything else was so good I can't bring myself to dock them for it. Great value, with two kids came to less than $10 per person.
We went as a family to Barnhill's late on Saturday afternoon. The food was good. The buffet was being restocked the entire time we were there, so it was definitely fresh too. The service was great. We never waited for refills or for dirty dishes to be removed. Our server was very personable as well. Overall, even though I'm not typically a fan of buffet style restaurants, I was pleased with our experience and would go back.
Food is decent for a buffet. Steaks are not bad for the price especially when they have a special on them any given day. The servers there have always been very attentive and helpful. Been there several times without the food causing any issue at all. So that's a huge win for any buffet.
This restaurant is in Jacksonville AR and within 3 miles of our US Air Force base. I'm a regular patron and I've always enjoyed my visits to this establishment until today. The employee dress code need to be evaluated and some disciplinary action taken. How can it be acceptable for your employees/ cashiers to wear personal clothing items representing their political ideologies while at work. We spoke with the manager and she basically said there is nothing she can do about it as the owner seems to like it.
TRUMP 2024 is not a good representation of what being an American is all about. My fiancé is a retired combat Vietnam Veteran who is extremely proud of serving his country and upholding his pledge to the Constitution of The United States of America. He was highly offended. Furthermore, he told another minority couple who asked him why he was wearing that hat at work, that 96% - 98% of his costumers like it. Most of your customers are minorities.
What this young man wears outside his job is his business. But when I go to any restaurant, I definitely don't expect to have this type of blatant display of........
Again, I'm not really a buffet person but my husband likes them. However, this is one I really enjoy as well. Other than the good food, this restaurant has "old-school" service staff. The ones who are actually attentive to the guests (a rarity these days).
One staff is dedicated to keeping the buffet clean and replenished.
I usually order the steak, single-serving with Texas toast and a sweet potato. But on today's visit, I went for the buffet (I really wanted some fried catfish)!
The food is always seasoned very well. This is not a health-food restaurant but the food isn't excessively greasy. The selection is enormous! From fried to baked items, a huge salad bar, a large assortment of breads, a massive dessert bar with soft-serve ice cream.
The price? $12.00 per person including the drink! The only thing that bothers me when I go to this buffet (or any buffet) is seeing how irresponsible and inconsiderate people can be. Just because a buffet is all-you-can-eat doesn't mean all you can waste. If the prices go up due to the cost of massive amounts of wasted food, the people doing the wasting will be the main one's complaining.
Here are a few pictures and a surprise when we went to our car!
I thought the food was okay, except the catfish and fried okra, that was excellent. Beef liver and onions not labeled, if you like it all good, I don't, so it was a nasty surprise. There were a lot of sugar free dessert options as well.
