I go to Zen Nail Spa regularly. Their quality is consistently great and my manicures and pedicures seem to last longer then other places I've been. The staff is kind and their prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend!
Very rushed- filed our polish off- wasn't gel. Gross part was she used a used file from the nail set she had used on the previous client. She painted a clear coat on my right toes in vertical strokes, nice and even- then a horizontal line across my toes on the left foot. Entire nail wasn't covered. Polish looked bumpy. Just really rushed. They definitely wanted out of there by 6.
Very clean. All instruments used on me have been through the autoclave (the machine that sterilizes metal instruments) I've been twice now once for pedicure and French gel manicure (which lasted almost 2 weeks before starting to peel), second time, French gel manicure & eyebrow wax. I got different technicians each time but both were very good. They were meticulous and skilled. I'm extremely ticklish and the woman who did my pedicure took it in good humor.
Their English is pretty good, and though they do occasionally speak to each other in Vietnamese, I don't get the feeling they're making fun of me as I have at other salons.
Also, I've gotten the feeling at other salons that the technicians weren't necessarily there voluntarily, and I've wondered if I'm supporting human trafficking or something. Not the case here. It seems like a family operation, and the technicians seem happy and seem to like their work. Lastly, the prices are good. With the tip, I was out of there at $60 (with the pedi & gel manicures). I never felt the up-sell I get other places, and they asked before doing added services. Highly recommended!
Small place with maybe six pedicure tubs. Wasn't busy at all, on a Saturday, so made me wonder about quality. Got a manicure and she was done in under 30 minutes. It shows since it wasn't very good quality work. However, it was very inexpensive. Seeing as I can do just as good, if not better myself I doubt I'd go here again.
Great service, clean and relaxing environment, and some pretty feet. Recommend making an appointment over walk-in!
This is my favorite nail spa because 1) I get a thorough, quality pedicure; 2) the prices are amazingly inexpensive yet the level of service is fantastic; and 3) I can nearly always be fit in at the last minute/walk-in. Do I get my ego massaged? No. Do I want that? No. Does she ask me about my day and personal life? No, and I like it that way. However, they are more than willing to talk shop if that's your interest. Do I get a great pedicure? Yes, every time! Is is super cool this nail spa appeared in Breaking Bad? Absolutely! But I come back for the quality work.
I've been going to Zen Nail Spa off and on for a good while and had been happy with the service. Some of my friends go there as well, and one of them even takes her young daughter. Last Sunday, my husband and I went to get pedicures, and there was a little bit of a wait, which was no problem at all.
They finished with the client at the spa chair nearest us, and she moved over to the table to have her nails done. A guy dried the spa with the towel that had just been used on her feet and told my husband it was ready for him. Seeing this, I said that it hadn't been cleaned. The guy insisted that it had. I said, no, this lady just finished and moved over to the nail table; it has not been cleaned. The lady herself spoke up and said that it had not been cleaned because her service was just finished. They then proceeded to scrub it with cleaner and a sponge.
They told me to sit down in the spa next to it, which had not immediately had a previous client, but I can only imagine now that it had not been cleaned, because I saw this happen with three other clients in spa chairs to my left. Not one of those spas were cleaned, as I watched employees finish clients and put new clients directly into the same chairs without any attempt to clean the spas.
I certainly won't return, but I want other people to know how unsanitary this salon is. I'm grateful that I haven't had a problem in the past, but especially now that I'm pregnant, it's even more concerning to know that I've been unknowingly exposing myself to such disgusting conditions.
There's no excuse for these sloppy and unsanitary practices, and there are solutions to scrubbing spas in between clients, like using disposable liners. I've reported this to the Lead Compliance Supervisor at the State, but I really want to make sure as many people know as possible.
I've been a client at Zen Nails for the past year. I have been very pleased with the level of service I receive. Not only do the technicians make you feel as if you're their only priority (as opposed to others who seem distracted or disengaged), they also take great care to ensure their work is perfect. The spa is very clean and an overall well run/organized business. Highly recommend.
