Sehr guter Pub. Essen war gut. Atmosphäre super - nur die Musikabende waren speziell - Zielgruppe Ü55
Loved this pub! Looked pretty, the vibes and atmosphere of the place were super fun! Pints were cheaper than average London price. They had a band playing live music on when we visited, a Saturday night, and the band was great and people were dancing and having fun. Had an amazing night out here!
The Hercules, on the corner of Holloway Road and Hercules Street is a fabulous independent pub offering a warm welcome to all that enter. Plenty of keg beers available. I didn't see any cask ales on my visit although there were two pumps hidden behind a clipboard menu. A beautiful interior with an abundance of wood panelling and a very laid back feeling about the place. Service was super, a great place to drink and eat.
Was going by.. and heard a chatting, music and laugh. Pretty big, with super clean wc, very friendly stuff. I had questions about drinks and traditions and got all the answers. Sadly, Guiness is the only dark beer here.. but it's ok. I do like this place!
???? Holloway Road
???? £5.10 Madri
❤️ A superb Holloway Road boozer.
.
The Hercules is located half way up Holloway Road and opposite the grand Odeon cinema which dominates the architectural landscape of the area. Holloway Road tube is just a short walk away.
.
The pub gets its name from the side street it sits on and up until recently was called Tommy Flynn’s. This corner boozer was built in 1860 and has a red brick and British racing green facade.
.
There has been a recent refurb to update the pub and the results are fantastic. There is a distinct Irish feel throughout the pub with an eclectic mix of Irish photos, pictures and paraphernalia. There are Arsenal tributes dotted around too, due to this pub’s location to the club. There are lots of screens showing live sport in well thought out viewing positions which make watching a game an enjoyable experience, depending on the result.
.
The beer selection was a mix of locals favourites like Fosters and new kids on the block like Madri, which is what I decided on. My pint was great and cost just over a fiver. I should have tried the celebrated Guinness here but I’d been on the lager all day, there’s always next time. There is a reasonably priced food menu consisting of American influenced choices and more traditional pub grub, Fish & Chips costs £14.50. Also look out for the revolving specials on chalkboard.
.
The atmosphere here is superb, there is a real local feel and the environment is welcoming. This good sized pub was fairly busy on this Saturday early evening with a mix of clientele either having a catch up with friends and family and a fair few in to watch the footy. At weekends there is regular live music to get those feet tapping.
.
I really enjoyed my visit to @theherculesholloway and it was great to see the impressive transformation of the pub. This is lovely locals pub with a great atmosphere that welcomes in those from not around the way. The beer and food are on point and there’s plenty to keep you entertained. This one you must visit in 2023.

Lovely, beautifully decorated pub! The food was delicious and a bargain (12 pounds for a drink and a burger) great atmosphere!
Excellent food, Really top notch.
went with a mate, he had the fish and chips 10/10 I had the Southern fried chicken wrap.
the chips that come with the fish and chips are out of this world, the ones that came with the wrap are ok, wish I knew they would be different, will defo get them chips next time for mine.
The wrap was really nice too, portion sizes here are is it should be, many pubs could learn from them.
top class.
Pub très sympathique et convivial. De bonnes bières, une bonne cuisine et de la bonne musique pour passer un agréable moment. Service impeccable.

Quick Facts About The Hercules- Holloway

The Hercules- Holloway place, based on the comments provided, has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. One of the major strengths mentioned is the atmosphere of the pub, which is described as super fun and welcoming. The pub is praised for its beautiful and well-decorated interior, with an abundance of wood paneling that creates a cozy and laid-back ambiance.
The live music performances at the Hercules are also highlighted as a strength, with the band being described as great and creating a lively environment where people can dance and have fun. This feature enhances the overall experience of visiting the pub, especially on weekend nights.
Another strength mentioned is the pricing of pints, which are described as cheaper than the average London prices. This affordability factor is likely to attract more customers and make the pub an appealing option for those seeking a budget-friendly night out.
The customer service at the Hercules is also commended in the comments. The staff is described as friendly and helpful, providing answers to questions about drinks and traditions. This positive interaction adds to the overall positive experience of customers, making them feel welcome and valued.
In terms of weaknesses, there are a few areas that could be improved upon. One comment mentions that the pub only offers Guinness as a dark beer option, which may limit the choices for those who prefer other types of dark beers. While this may not be a significant issue for some customers, it could be a drawback for those seeking a wider selection.
Additionally, one comment mentions that the pub has a distinct Irish feel, which may be a weakness for individuals who do not resonate with or appreciate Irish-themed decor and paraphernalia. This could potentially limit the pub's appeal to a specific target audience who appreciates Irish culture, while others may not find it as appealing.
Furthermore, the food options are generally praised for being delicious and reasonably priced. However, one comment mentions that the chips that come with the fish and chips dish are exceptional, while the ones that accompany the wrap are only average. This discrepancy in quality between food items could be improved to ensure consistency across the menu.
In conclusion, The Hercules- Holloway place has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, live music performances, affordable pints, and friendly customer service are all highlighted as strengths. However, there are a few weaknesses that could be addressed, such as the limited dark beer options and the inconsistency in the quality of food items. Overall, the strengths outweigh the weaknesses, making The Hercules an appealing pub for many customers.
