Such a convenient shopping center! Plenty of places to park and shop!!
The area is a nice spot. High population of homeless in the Target area. I try to avoid this plaza at all cost because some of them can get aggressive. Whenever I have cash I try to give some out, but i don't want to do that anymore since a good amount of my encounters here are with them demanding more. When it's not homeless people it's other kind of solicitors who are aggressive when they ask you things.
If they had good private security in the area it might improve the plaza.
Great selection of stores and restaurants! Parking is ample albeit wonky lanes here & there. I heard it's unsafe here after dark but was just there and felt fine? Though it was before 7pm.
Many stores Target, pet store, World Market, Marshals, Trader Joe's, Starbucks, Mediterranean food, Mexican, American food...it's a nice mall conveniently located in downtown San Jose
I went shopping at Target and I always get treated very good. The employees are very friendly and helpful to me. I just love going to Target because I always find what I need. I would give you 10 stars ✨ if I could. Thank you Target. My name is MARY.
Loved my walk through this market. It had so many historical lessons along the entire area. All the businesses seemed very cozy and complemented the architecture. We stopped by an ice cream store that served the cutest scoops and sorbets.
There are many stores at this shopping center. Some are extremely clean and inviting. Others are not.
There also a lot of parking for each store.
I would recommend locking your car doors and taking any valuables with you. There is always a couple of people just wandering through the parking lot.
Actually I went to trade Joe's and also target there is great choice on food options in this open mall off of Coleman and taylor

Quick Facts About San José Market Center

San José Market Center, located in downtown San Jose, has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. In this analysis, we will examine these aspects in detail.
One of the main strengths of the market center is its convenience. Several comments mention the abundance of parking spaces, making it easy for shoppers to find a spot and shop without any hassles. Additionally, the presence of a variety of stores and restaurants is seen as a positive aspect by many reviewers. The wide selection caters to different needs and preferences, ranging from big-box stores like Target and Marshalls to specialty stores like the pet store and World Market. This diversity adds to the appeal of San José Market Center, making it a one-stop destination for shoppers.
Moreover, several reviewers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff at stores like Target. Good customer service creates a positive shopping experience and encourages customers to return. Mary, for example, expresses her love for Target, highlighting the excellent treatment she receives and stating her satisfaction with the store. Positive interactions with employees contribute to the overall strength of San José Market Center as a welcoming and customer-centric shopping destination.
Additionally, the historic charm of the market center is seen as a strength by one reviewer. The area is complemented by cozy businesses and architecture, providing a unique and pleasant atmosphere for visitors. This historical aspect adds to the overall experience of the market center, making it more than just a shopping destination.
On the other hand, the market center also has several weaknesses, which are mainly related to safety and security. The presence of a high homeless population in the Target area is seen as a major concern by some reviewers. This poses a potential threat, as some homeless individuals can become aggressive. The negative encounters with homeless people demanding more money discourage some visitors from returning to the plaza. This issue is further compounded by the presence of other solicitors who are described as aggressive when requesting assistance or engaging in conversation. This aspect creates an unpleasant environment for shoppers and diminishes the overall satisfaction with the market center.
Another weakness highlighted by a reviewer is the inconsistency in cleanliness and upkeep among the stores. While some stores are described as extremely clean and inviting, others are not up to par. This lack of uniformity in store maintenance can create a negative impression and affect the overall perception of San José Market Center.
Furthermore, there are concerns about safety after dark. While one reviewer mentions feeling fine during their visit before 7pm, there is a general sense of insecurity associated with the market center at night. Locking car doors and taking valuables with them is recommended due to the presence of people wandering through the parking lots. This indicates a potential lack of security measures in place, which could be improved to provide a safer environment for visitors.
In conclusion, San José Market Center has both strengths and weaknesses. Its convenient location, ample parking, and diverse selection of stores and restaurants contribute positively to its appeal. Additionally, positive interactions with employees at stores like Target add to the overall satisfaction of visitors. However, concerns about safety and security, particularly regarding the homeless population and aggressive solicitors, pose significant weaknesses. Inconsistent cleanliness among stores and potential safety hazards after dark also detract from the overall experience. Addressing these weaknesses through improved security measures and maintenance standards would enhance the strength of San José Market Center as a desirable shopping destination in downtown San Jose.
