Finally, a great haircut for a reasonable price ($35) in DC. After 3 years of searching I was about to give up on the idea altogether, but I’m so glad I gave this place a try.

You have to enter the building on K st, then make your way through the lobby past security and head towards the back, where it’s really not hard to find. I called ahead to book and would recommend doing the same.

Not only did she pay close attention to detail and give me a really good quality haircut (and wash!), but she also helped me to understand my hair and the best way to style it given what it wants to do naturally. No other barber, even in $70+ places, has ever done this effectively. I’ll be back again soon.

Typically really enjoy getting my hair cut here, but every time I ask for a certain amount off the top, they take off way more. It’s been making it hard to grow my hair out.

Suki and Kim consistently give a fantastic haircut. In addition to being consistent, they are extremely versatile and can style hair for any occasion all at a fair price. This is the only place in Washington DC I would ever go to get a haircut.

Kim and Suki consistently give the best haircut I've ever received. I live in New York now, but I still only get my haircut at The Hair Shoppe. They are attentive, kind, and talented hair stylists. I'm a baby about my hair, and I am able to relax throughout the entire experience here, knowing they will give me the exact cut I ask for every time.

As a plus, they play great classical music and the price is incredibly reasonable for the quality.

I've been getting my hair cut by Kim for 23 years. I traveled from Texas to work in DC for 14 of those years and would often plan a trip based on a need for a haircut. I have thick, straight, wirery hair, and she is the only person who has ever cut it well. Kim and Suki not only give excellent haircuts, they are sweet, honest, and friendly ladies. I smile every time I walk into thier shop!
