Best PlaceJuice Reviews
We dropped in Saturday for lunch but we're too late, chef was off until 6. Didn't know know where to park, the pub car park only held three cars so parked on local land. Having said that the food that was still being eaten looked and smelled good and the pub was full of happy looking folk. Look forward to another try.
Tried to dine at this pub twice, both Sundays. Each time turned away as too busy. Today was laughable, arrived at 12:01, the place was completely empty. Made worse by the barmaid who took great pleasure in telling us we wouldn’t be able to eat with a smile. Surely even she knew how ridiculous that sounded looking out onto an empty pub…?Looking at your reviews, enjoy while you can, not long and you will join the long list of pubs closing weekly.
We came as a party of 10 for an impromptu late Saturday lunch. The pub was quite quiet and could accommodate a nice table for us all. We were very warmly welcomed. The decor was cute and interesting. The drinks selection was good. The menu was well priced and had both pub classics and some interesting variety. Food was not the swiftest to arrive, due to it being cooked fresh and our large party. Staff were very keen to update us on the progress of the food, which was appreciated. Everything that came out was delicious - definitely worth waiting for it to be cooked properly rather than reliance on microwaves etc.
Great pub .proper traditional with log fire great rustic food and juke box ...cozy. great landlord
My first time here and loved it as soon as I walked in. Very welcoming, friendly staff and great Sunday roast.
We came as a large party with children. The pub was understaffed with the one barman also bringing food to tables. Only after taking our order did the chef/owner tell us that the food would take half an hour to get all the food out - it actually took an hour and a half, with orders coming out wrong, by with stage everyone was very tired and irritable. Some of the fish and chips were completely different than the others - some came with baked beans others with peas. Some with French fries others with fat chips. It looked like the chef had popped out half way through the order to stock up from a local supermarket rather than telling us at the start certain dishes had run out.
We popped in here for a late lunch after a walk and glad we did. It's a really welcoming pub, cosy inside, a huge garden with lots of benches and great food. We will definitely return when back in the area.
Great grass pitch next to the lake. Food available Friday to Sunday. Village shop opposite open six days a week. Great walking directly from site, great beer. No charge but eating expected when available. Water and toilets available by arrangement.
