I needed a haircut real bad and she was kind enough to accomodate me. She runs a very efficient establishment - clean and comfortable. She is a thorough professional who takes pride in her work. Here is our recent experience:
My son (19) stops in for a haircut. He has very little money/makes minimum wage. He expected to pay around $30. He has straight hair - nothing difficult. Halfway through the cut - the lady owner asks if he wants his neck cleaned up; facial hair (basically has fuzz at his age) & eyebrows. He assumed that was included - as she didn't say it was extra. At the end, she tells him "That'll be $95 & I only take cash"... WHAT?
So she says she charged him extra for his long hair (that's laughable in today's age - his hair barely reached his collar in the back) - and $45 to trim the fuzz on his face, eyebrows & neck!!
He only had $70 in his wallet. So, she "allowed" him to use his card for the rest. (I have family who worked & still work in salons - so I know what is a good haircut and what is a bad one. Unfortunately, neither relatives were available for him at the time. So he passed by this place and went in.)
When I saw his haircut - I noticed that she didn't even layer his hair on top. She chopped it all up on top (that takes zero skill). The only thing that looked even was where she used the electric trimmer on the sides and back. Needless to say, he is very embarrassed to be taken advantage of. He has learned an expensive lesson. Should he have asked if there was an extra charge for everything? Yes. However, if you are going to charge more, by upselling stuff, in the middle of a haircut- most people will assume that it's included - RIGHT? (especially a 19 Y.O.).
I have the unfortunate task of writing this honest review. Fortunately, I don't write these critical reviews often. But when it's warranted - I will. I'm sure other's have had better experiences - and you will see them here as well. Just beware of the upcharges.
Nadia is pretty amazing ! I love my hair cuts and she also cuts both of my kids hair ! I've found my new barber ! I recommend her to any body !!
