Was having a great time. Had had 2 drinks and paid the barmaid with my card each time. Went to get a third drink and the owner (a guy) refused to let me pay with my card. Said it would cost him 25p and I should go to the ATM. He was rude. I can only think he had a problem with me - and I have absolutely no idea why. Honestly, by that point I didn't want to put anymore cash in his till, so i left. He really quite upset me. Spoiled my night and left a really bad taste in my mouth. Definitely won't be back.
Had an absolutely lovely lunch here. Couldn't have had nicer staff , so friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic would definitely go back
Good atmosphere, great service , fantastic food . Roasts are exceptional, we will be retuning with the family very soon . Highly recommend.
Nice bar nice big tables for large groups to sit large screens for sports friendly staff.
Quirky decor with original vault still in place from when it was NatWest previously. Food didn’t blow me away, but that was a while ago when it first opened. Very good cocktails though!
S**thole
Wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom and the woman was ready to let me buy a coke just so I could use it. Idiots. Couldn’t pay me to drink in here and I live locally
Decent pub you can take a poo in... I rate that.
Last minute decision to go out for Sunday lunch with my wife, stepdaughter, her husband and 6 month old baby.
We were made to feel very welcome, very good service, didn't have to wait long for anything. My wife had roast lamb, and she said it was really nice, and plenty of it My stepdaughter and I had the roast pork belly and this was also very nice (good crispy crackling as well) plenty of vegetables as well.
Good selection of starters, although they had run out of scotch egg, which worked out well as I couldn't decide between that and the whitebait (which was excellent)
And for dessert - I reccomend the cheesecake - proper home made as well !
Also, as an added bonus, they had now got Orchard Pig cider on draught - much better than the very sugary Magners that they used to have.
Bill and Lorraine are excellent hosts, and their bar staff are very good too !
Must come here more often !
