Fantastic fish and chips. My new local chip shop

Fish was large, nicely cooked, excellent quality... The complete opposite of the chips that were cold, soggy and oily,

Well the last time I visited this place we gave them a 5 star rating. However on this occasion lucky to get 2, the chips were cold, the fish was on the small side for the price and not very tasty, batter was soggy. Didn't say anything to my husband until he said the same. Only thing definite won't be going again.

My mum and I each had fish and chips here recently. We had to throw the chips away as they were awful. Apart from the strange taste, they were hard as nails. You’d think that a fish and CHIP shop would be able to get its chips right. When I complained by phone, I was told they’d reimburse my account but that it might take up to 2 weeks for the money to be seen. It is now a month and I realise that they had absolutely no intention of reimbursing me at all. I would NEVER return here despite us living just walking distance away and I would recommend that people use the chip shops in town instead. Absolutely awful food and even worse customer service.

Upon it's opening, this venue served excellent quality fish and chips, fresh from the oil and large in portion size. However, I am sad to say that, for whatever reason, the quality and quantity of the fish and chips has sharply declined. The last time we visited, the batter was hard and the fish was very small, not what you'd expect for around £8 in a seaside town with quite the reputation for this delicacy. I don't know what they've changed, but my family will now be changing to a chip shop with better value.

£13.50 for a factory battered fish !!! What a rip off !! Something you wouldn't expect in a restaurant by the beach ...very disappointed customer
