I never leave reviews. I used to go to Mimi’s back in 2015 for a couple years, they were always super nice, great prices and did a great job. I moved back to LI this past year and of course have been going to my tried and true Mimi’s and I am so disappointed. I’ve been trying for months to see if they’d get better. They have been rude every time, my nails have never been poorly done. I got a new set of tips with dip powder less than 2 weeks ago, half of them fell off. I went to another place and they took them all off so easily. They were on so thin and very poorly done. I always ask them to do my cuticles, they never do and just file over them. I wont be going back. I have been going for months to see if they’d get better but they have only gotten worse. Wouldn’t recommend.
multiple acrylic nails have broken only days after getting them, and because she filed my natural nails down to the nail bed, it’s painful and left them damaged. not my first negative experience here.
I'm upset about the work they did for me, tips with dust, and they left me horrible, poorly made and thick, the Asian girl told him to fix it for me but he ignored me and seemed to be in a hurry. Arriving at my house I had to make arrangements myself, I cut them and filed them, now I will go with horrible nails to the wedding I have. I do not recommend and of course the high prices. I will never return.
Estoy molesta por el trabajo que me realizaron, puntas con polvo, y me las dejaron horribles, mal hechas y gruesas, la chica asiática le mencione que me lo arreglara pero me ignoraba y parecía tener prisa. Llegando a mi casa me tuve que hacer arreglos yo misma, me las corte y me las limé, ahora iré con unas uñas horribles a la boda que tengo. No recomiendo y por supuesto los precios elevados. Jamas regresaré.
I've been coming to Mimi since she was at Nails 2000 in Hicksville Broadway Mall!! Thankfully found her out East when i moved out here and was so excited to reconnect! So its been around 16 years now. She is awesome and her place is beautiful, clean and welcoming. I do suggest making appts as it can get pretty busy on weekends, but walk ins are welcome. I get acrylic, coffin style and they always look amazing; I constantly get asked where I get my nails done and have referred quite a few people to Mimi and they all are in love as well.
Rude and unprofessional, they charge me 5/10$ more on my nails and toes just to make an extra tip. The board says one price and they charge me more. I have had to tell Mimi about this several times. The nail techs make me bleed and burn me with tools. Very careless. NEVER going back.
I hate doing this but I really wished I looked at the reviews before ever going to this place. Believe them. I feel like I just threw away $70. They don’t know how to do the powder dip. They use a UV Light for it and my top layer is peeling off just hours later. The place wasn’t clean. It smelt like cigarette smoke because people were outside smoking and the doors were open. A man did my pedicure and cut my big toe nail way too short and when I said something to him all he said was “I had to make it square”. Meanwhile other toes aren't square. No apology. And it hurts now. I really hope it doesn’t get infected. I’m going on vacation tomorrow and ran to this place. Google reviews before you go! I’m so disappointed
Reasonable price and they always give me what I want yesterday I wanted a Halloween theme and she did perfect and I think her name was Tina?… I had a powder purple gel with the gel polish pumpkin design…
The last time I tried Mimi’s was in 2019…went back yesterday and got a mani and pedi. And tonight I have athletes foot. NEVER AGAIN will I go back to Mimi’s! Should’ve known it wasn’t so clean when the nail polishes have dust and cob webs all over them!
