I needed braids for an upcoming surgery (simply the easiest way to keep my long fine thick hair when I can’t do it myself). I had gone to them with my step daughter years ago and had great results. Today when I ran by Big Lots I decided to just stop and see tomorrow’s availability- she wasn’t able to get me in tomorrow but had time right then. We got it done and it’s JUST what I needed. I got my hair done about a month and a half ago and between that time I have had to do my whole head over. The day after I got my hair done I went back into the shop because my twist were all different lengths, sizes, and were coming undone. When I voiced my concerns with the stylist I was told that it was the hair that I picked (which they told me to purchase)and my hair was too straight,but my hair is natural and either way that has nothing to do with a twist not properly being twisted. When I redid the twist myself I was able to obtain the length, size, and neatness that I wanted which was unfair to me because I paid for a service that I did not receive and had to use more of my time to complete it myself. I am disappointed because I did not feel as if my time and money was valued. If the style that I requested could not be achieved by the available stylist I would have appreciated it if they would have been honest and not half way did my hair and took my money. The pictures that I posted are from before I redid my hair and what I showed the stylist when I went back the next day.
I have gone here twice, once to get cornrows with individual and the second time to get a touch up. I love the style, and it is neat and secure. It took about 6 hours with one stylist, the first time and 2 1/2 hours for the touch up. The price is reasonable, but sometimes the stylist isn’t always ready when you arrive. Overall clean shop and friendly service.
I called on Saturday April 30th 2022 **Smyrna location** was told there was no availability for the day, ok no problem. I wasn't asked if I would like to book an appt. I called again Monday, May 2nd 2022 before 730am & was told no one was at the shop, So I asked, what time is opening. I was told, that they are closed on Mondays & it's appt only on Mondays. Again, I wasn't asked if I would like to make an appt or offered any type of assistance, On when I could come in for service. Website reads, open on Mondays & doesn't mention anything about an appt. I requested bra strap length twist with Marley hair. Because I brought my own hair, I was given a price of $140. I requested to have the back of my hair a longer length and was told that it would be $20. That was no problem. The length of my hair ended up being barely pass my shoulders, definitely not close to my bra strap length. I mentioned how short my hair was and the lady told me it was because my ends were curled. Even with my hair stretched its not bra strap length. Once again, I paid $20 extra dollars for a longer length! Braid work was beautiful, but they cheated me on the length of the hairstyle.
Took my daughter this morning before school. 4 beautiful large cornows and got us out in a timely fashion. So friendly and helpful. Absolutely will be coming back! Edit: unfortunately when i went back different women were there. Different vibes. the stylist had an attitude and gave me an outrageous price for the exact same hairdo. Haven't been back due to her and her unprofessional conduct.
