Do not go here!! The owners create a hostile shopping environment. They follow me around while I shop, and are overall very unfriendly. Today while paying, I was told by one of the owners to input my PIN number, though I didn’t hear her at first and the machine did not prompt me to do so, so I didn’t. When she had to re-do the transaction, she was angrily telling me she told me to put my pin, in front of other customers already present. While they have products that I need for my hair type, I never felt welcomed here as a customer, and I certainty won’t be coming back.
i really feel uncomfortable coming here as a young black girl every-time i go w my sister or brother the employees are stalking us while we shop, lady at cashier was rude to my sister for no reason saying she needs to put debit in even tho she never specified, made mr sister apologize for no reason, the people here think we’re stealing even tho we just buying hair products. i seriously don’t understand why would you make a beauty store targeted for black people then continue to terrorize us as if we’re stealing even though we’re just buying products :( it feels racist to me honestly please don’t go here if you want to feel threatened and stalked around the store.
Race aside, they have atrocious customer service and manners. They act like stalkers in a horror film and if you touch anything the staring and overbearing actions get worse. They make no attempts to bond with the community that keeps them in business. I suggest you find somewhere else to buy your beauty products.
First time here. Nice clean and organized. Not a huge selection of products but tons of hair and wigs. Prices were reasonable. Don't trip 1 person literally stands at the door and watches you.
DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY HERE.
This place will NEVER see another penny from me, I've absolutely had it with their unwelcoming environment and ludicrous business practices.
After this "last-straw" visit tonight, I Google searched what other hair supply options were available in town and found Crown 26 in Suisun. I spoke to the owner about my terrible experience with Maxx Beauty and she not only apologized for their poor service, but answered, in depth, several questions I had concerning hair bundle quality and product availability. AND it's a black owned store! I'll be visiting tomorrow after work to check out what they have to offer.
I was purchasing items for a suck friend and needed some help. Everyone was soo helpful and answered my many questions. I had no clue what to buy and everyone hooked me up with everything i was wanting but needed advice and opinions on. I know i musta been a pain and took forever but they didnt mind at all.
Very friendly kind people and i recommend them 100 % !!
Terrible business, watch and lurks people around the store. When asked why are you staring at me they get defensive. I’m so over supporting business that target specific people yet we are their means of income.
Ok the worst experience in a beauty supply store in CA. My daughter and I went into Maxx to get some hair products due to our recent move here to maintain our natural hair. Short story....my hooded hair dryer broke moving here and I required a new one. Went into the store was immediately greeted by a male and 2 females. Not paying any attention i proceeded to shop but my 10 year old noticed the man and woman were standing on the ends of the aisle watching us...she has never experienced this before but I have. I told her to overlook it. we aren't stealing.. its done becasue some beauty supply stores experience a lot of theft in the beauty industry..
mind you I have read reviews about this place dating back to 2012. . not very good but being that it's the only place close enough without me having to drive to Oakland I took a chance to be a patron.
I got what I need and went to pay for the dryer and other items we picked out. I asked the lady checking me out if there was anything wrong with the dryer could I bring it back and she said yes if there was an issue with it. I asked her if it was the only one you have in store. She replied yes. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant so I dont have time to be back and forth with COVID-19 added.. I get home start and finish my hair but when I am about to dry it the hair dryer is broken already!!! Yes broken. Luckily I was smart and took a video and pictures of my husband taking the dryer out the box.
I go immediately to the store the next morning and was greeted and i addressed my concerns. She tells me she will give me a 65 dollar credit. I politely said no ma'am.. she said its our store policy or I can wait until they ship it off and return it or I can ship it off with the warranty myself... I said red flag. Its not my fault I received a product that was broken when I was told if any defects I could bring it back. No way I would have known about it being broken unless it was opened in the store. She proceeded to blame me for it being broken but had nooooo idea that I had the video of my husband removing it with pictures until I showed her. She was very defensive before i could make my arguments.
She then proceeded to change her tune when I spoke of the bad reviews of their customer service and how they treat the community that try to support them and How this was a manufacturing or shipping defect and I am now being punished for something outside my control... it would be different if it was weave or products but its a dryer.... I am not going to spend 65 dollars in credit when I am a locked queen and rarely shop in The beauty supply unless needed.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE.. I will take my coins elsewhere...
