The store and products get a 3. The majority of the staff a 1. The last time I was in no one asked if they could help me, no one ever does actually. When I got to the counter the cashier never looked at me during the entire transaction. So passive aggressive and rude. I lost my debit card that day. When I called to inquire, I thought the store was closed. The phone rang like 7 times. I think I'll just drive a bit further to Howard next time.
This is thevworst place to shop their wigs look like a toilet brush, their attendants are mean as hell, this was my first time shopping here terrible service cheap fake products. I don't know why I stopped to shop here when my regular beauty shop is 7 minutes away. Next time I will keep shopping @ howard beauty supply their services are way better bye bye to rubbish main beauty supply.
One of the employees who has been working there for a while was quite rude. Second time experiencing her unprofessional behavior. That sealed the deal for me. I won't be going back. The quality of the merchandise has changed as well.
Really want to give it zero stars. Didn't greet me when I walked in figured they didn't see me until they didn't thank me when i left and made a 300 purchase. Women at the register were talking and laughing about someone's boyfriend abusing them. Not really something you should talk about while customers are in store. Definitely Didn't feel like a good and customer friendly atmosphere.
In Evanston IL the beauty supply store is named Main Beauty Supply, 838 Dodge Ave, Evanston IL 60202... What is odd is that I crossed paths with the immigrant manager, as she crossed in front of my car earlier that morning about 9AM. I thought to myself 'how tired she seemed, how souless were her eyes, and what was that large keychain she carred on her waist with what appeared to be hundreds of keys and what locks did they open? I followed her with my eyes and realized she was going to open Main Beauty Supply, and just then I decided to shop after I'd finished my other appointment in the area. I bought 3 items, which were placed in a too small bag, and while crossing the door to the outside (barely out the door) one item fell out and broke... I returned immediately and asked for it to be replaced...and the African mgr turned immediatley very hostile and said NO REFUND, NO REPLACEMENT... I am not used to shopping this type of establishment inside my city, and I demanded a replacement or I would report this kind of treatment to the CIty of Evanston...we had a choice exchange of words, wherein, I reminded her that we are not in Africa, where the customer has no rights...she hostily relented and replaced the item...LAST TIME EVER WILL I GO INTO THIS PLACE!????????????

The store was clean and well stocked, but the service was horrendous! While the young lady waited on us the other continued to tell her in a very vulgar manner how she felt about another person/employee. She did not even hesitate to use profanity or derogatory expression while my mom and I checked out. When my mom asked her "could she please stop talking and let the young lady take care of us?", she stormed off rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath...when a simple "my apologies" would have sufficed! The young lady who waited on us did apologize and was great, but the reality is your establishment is only as good as it's weakest link! Please retrain staff immediately!
This was my go-to beauty supply store in Evanston. They had a fire and rebuilt. Unfortunately the prices went up a lot. They don't seem to have as much product for the hair care. What they do have is an extraordinary amount of hair to sell. So if you're looking for wigs extensions locs You will find those there. I noticed with the fire that the prices have just gone up so much that I usually now go to Howard beauty supply on Western.
If I could give a zero I would..I purchased an item which when I took it home it wasn’t the same as what I had tried on..so I came back to the store literally a few hours after purchasing with a receipt to exchange it.the manager whose name is Sidney tells me that I can’t exchange it because it’s open.I told her your policy on my receipt you can.she tells me that it’s her discretion and she just doesn’t want to exchange fir me.she was unprofessional,rude,disrespectful and shouldn’t be a manager.I asked her for the owner name and contact info and she refused to give it to me.it is false yo have a reciept saying something can be exchanged within 7 days and she changed the policy under her discretion.I will be contacting the BBB on this establishment.I would not recommend this beauty supply store.
