I never thought I would be the guy excited to go to my barber to have my hair cut until I started coming here. Lefty has become a good friend of mine and he does a great job with my boys (puts kids shows on the TV, jokes with them, has candy for them after their cut, shared his Jimmy John's with my son one day while the other napped on the bench, etc). I was hesitant at first because I didn't want one of the fancier haircuts that he is known for but I ended up getting a bald fade which turned out to be exactly what I was after. Short, clean cut look without the "high and tight" appearance. The straight razor shave on the back of your neck is an awesome finishing touch. My boys and I won't go anywhere else, he's worth the wait!
I like this place, good people they do good work I live over an hour away and I plan on returning for each haircut that I need.
My my son’s favorite barber and barber shop, ever! Certainly the best work (particularly with boys/men) in Kirksville. You may have a short wait, but it’s a walk-in shop, and the results are more than worth the wait!
Lefty doesnt take appointments. Two occasions he either closed early or unable to cut my hair..like....Most recently, I arrived (4:30), an hour before close (close 5:30 pm). Lefty had someone in a chair, no one in line, but said he would be cutting their hair until close (for the entire next hour). Seems to me if someone shows up reasonable amount of time before close they should get a cut.
Really good hair is hard to find and this is the only place I have found that gives me the hair cut I want and at a good price.
I absolutely loved my experience at Lefty's though, in all honesty, it helped that I walked in at exactly the rare moment when there was no line. My understanding is that there is often a lengthy wait and no appointments made. Little wonder that people show up, sit down and wait their turn though. This guy is quite possibly one of the most skilled, knowledgeable barbers I have come across in my travels, and he clearly has a passion for what he does which comes through in the experience. Additionally, he is one of the few barbers left that still provides a good old-fashioned, full service, hot towel and straight razor head shave..one of my favorite ways of pampering myself ???? Thanks!
Really nice guy running the place, he knows what he is doing and has the shop setup really cool yet tasteful! Not sure what the going rate is around here but if you think it is too high then maybe you don't appreciate a real cut!

To put my experience into one word would have to just be "WOW"!!! My 17-year-old boy and my 12-year-old boy will not get their haircut anywhere else! He's even fixed a screwed up haircut of mine on one occasion! He definitely knows what his customers want and is very in tune to them.
