Delighted with our fantastic Fish Supper for 5 on a Friday evening. We were served immediately just waited for more cod to fry. We dashed home to savour our meal. Delicious tasty fish well cooked with great crunchy batter a generous serving of hot freshly fried chips. All we added was our own salt, pepper and good malt vinegar. Couldn't ask for more, well just the freshly fried onion rings also part of our supper order from Eagles. Thank you very much to the young ladies serving and the fryers working busily at the back.
Been here lots of times in the past and it's always been very good.. unfortunately this time was a complete let down! the chips were very dry like they'd been re-fried and a lot of the scrag ends were in them, we ordered haddock which in my opinion was quite small compared to our last visit. When we sat at the table although it wasn't busy it had bits of the previous occupants food on it and salt everywhere including the seats.
Well what can I say. We always went there on a Friday for tea fantastic but not been for a while so we thought we would call what a disappointment fish was dry chips was like been sat there for ages look like frozen chips very dry look like scraps from the bottom of the fryer and very small portion you used to get a good plate full . Young staff that kept talking to each other when I wanted to order. When we left no one was behind the counter or where they cooked. Got my order wrong. Ordered gravy and peas and got curry sauce. No apology just I didn't take your order. Used to be do busy but hardly anyone there tonight. Won't be going back for a long time unless we hear it's changed.

Had fish and chips from here recently and they were not very nice at all. Greasy scrappy hard chips and fish didn't taste nice either . Won't be back again
Just been to eagles chip shop after years and not very impressed. Chips were not chip shop chips they were small and hard and were just like what you put in the oven at home, fishcake came battered and just fell apart the fishcake had no skin to it and you didn't get a choice of battered or unbattered. Complete waste of money and will not be returning. Very disappointing ????
Gluten free fish and chips cooked to order. Really delicious.
Not even worth 1 star, appalling service and disgusting food, tiny overcooked haddock so greasy, tiny portion of chips all over cooked. Won’t bother again
