Tried so my many others and ended up looking like a clown each time.
Gerardo has been here for 40 years for a reason. Don’t think twice.
I was able to walk in and though I had to wait a bit (there were a few others in front), it was well worth the wait. The barber was a warm old Hispanic gentleman who gave me an excellent fade with no fuss, and made me feel welcome and like a regular. The price was only $30, the quality was what you can get for $50 at other places. Can’t recommend this place enough and I plan to come here for my cuts from now on.

Gerardo is a top-notch barber and a consumate professional. Make no mistake about it - the Cardinal Barbershop is a classical-classic hair cuttery. If you want to see a stylist, go elsewhere. In fact, Gerardo will probably give you a good recommendation as you go out the door.
But if you're looking for a professional fade cut, or have medium to short hair, you're in the right place. A haircut costs ~$30 and includes hot lather and straight blade to touch up all the sides and back.
The best place to get a haircut in the Bay Area, hands down. I first went to Gerardo when I was in high school and I still go there now (nearly decade later) because I haven't found a better place. Great value, great haircut, great human.
Best haircut in town. Gerardo is a local treasure, and a pillar of the community. You won't find it better or more experienced barber anywhere.
Best men's haircut in Palo Alto! On top of always doing a thorough job, Gerardo is just a very nice guy and I appreciate that he gets to know all his customers.
