Have everything you want in sea food if not you can order like fresh lobster
I only have one happy memory of Waterford and it's in this shop. Even outside the context of Waterford I have never felt such low warmth peaceful acceptance more such talented people who are more than happy to share the knowledge they hold. Just sheer love for what they do.
I was looking for freshwater prawns I think and I was scared because I didn't know how to cook them and the lady behind the till was just so lovely she didn't make me feel stupid for asking or anything she just explained it and asked me to tell her how it went.
Unfortunately due to other aspects of living in Waterford I never quite returned, anyways to this day that brief moment she took to lovingly share some of her expertise has made a continue difference to how I cook. Furthermore the prawns, they were delicious.
Bought "fresh" fish this morning in Billy Burke's fish shop, Ballybricken and the secod I opened plastic bag an awful rotten smell hit me. It is not the first time it happened, but for me it sure is last.
Always enjoy the fish and chat with the ladies in Billy Burkes in Ballybricken. Well presented catch, filleted and whole. There is usually a recipe leaflet or two worth collecting. They do chicken also.
