A local legend for all the right reasons!

If you’re looking for a hot food/sandwich place then Al’s Kitchen should be on your list, an extensive menu of high quality foods, exciting daily specials and a good choice of snacks/cakes and drinks.

I luckily used to live around the corner from Al’s which is when I first tried it - after hearing nothing but good things about the place.

Al’s isn’t quite in the town centre and does require you to travel to the area specifically but it’s worth the trip!

The place isn’t exactly huge inside but if you catch it at the right time you won’t have to wait long, I got here at 11:30 before the lunch rush and was served and back out of the shop within 3 minutes.

I went for the immensely popular Cumberland sausage and caramelised onion baguette, it was divine! The sausage was really high quality meat and the onions were rich and flavourful inside of a soft buttered baguette…

Overall, Al’s Kitchen is well known to the locals for good reason, the staff are always friendly and the food is always top notch, you can’t ask for much more than that!

Please note that parking can be a nightmare here as it’s on-street disc parking in a residential area, look around Hartington Street for more spaces.

Called in for a couple of sandwiches. Got a couple of breakfast bap's. Really nice. Will be back

Visited on many an occasion. In my opinion the best deli in Workington. Great choice of food for everyone with specials on the board every day. Staff are always friendly efficient, even when busy. Can't fault the place

Stood there for 20+ minutes waiting to pick up an order that I arrived 5 minutes early for. Wasn't asked once if I needed served or had been served must have watched 15 people be served while I stood there. Then charged me a tenner for a baguette and a jacket potato. Rated this place a few years ago. Service was a disgrace.

Al's is one of my favourite places to get something to eat. The breakfast baguette is amazing and great value for the quality and price you pay. Wide selection of sandwiches and hot dinners to takeaway.

Excellent food, extremely friendly staff and reasonably priced to boot!! What more could you ask??
