I’ve been going to Zams ever since I moved to the suburbs, for 6 YEARS! It is a no frills place, not pretty, the ladies are fast, most of the women are from Western Africa and you can hear them speaking French while they work. My braids always look fabulous and I get a lot of compliments.
Once, I made a very early appointment where they showed up late, so now I always check in before I leave the house, when I have an early appointment. That’s my only negative experience.
I speak French and the ladies are just talking about normal life… their children, family, friends, church. If you engage in English they will speak to you too!
I highly recommend it if you want your hair to look beautiful!
Very unprofessional and rude
I made an appointment on Wednesday through text message and asked if I could come in on Tuesday the 23rd at 12:30pm. She replied okay. I get there at 12pm and the door was locked. I waited around and then at 12:30 I shoot a text saying hi I'm here and the door is locked. She told me my appointment was tomorrow meaning Wednesday. I was like no it's today. She then tells me she can't come back and could I come back at 4:30pm or tomorrow. I say no. I had to scramble to find someone else to do my hair. I'm so disappointed in this place and they were my favorite. I won't be back. Inconvenience me and I am through with you.
Prompt and on time, finished my hair in a timely manner, fixed my hair as requested.
Hated it! My daughter came from it of town and I got her hair braided at this shop last minute! To women came in complaining their braids falling it after two weeks! Both ladies different times same problem! The women who braided their hair didn't want to help them but did redo their loose braids only! I heard one last day she was charged 225! I was charged the same amount different style different lengths it was stinking and unsatisfactory there, never again!
Save your money and your time by looking for another braid shop. This place is bad. It’s dirty inside. Crumbs and dirt all over the floors and chairs. Dirty in the bathroom. And the unprofessionalism is ridiculous as well. They overcharge you. And the work they do is no where near what they TRY TO CHARGE. I’m so disgusted by this place. Never again
I was there today to have my braids touched up. The cost was $100. I was told by one lady that the lady that did my hair before didn't want to do the touch up because she felt I took down to many braids. The lady with the least amount of experience did my braids. She didn't trim them or clip the ends and some of the braids are just sloppy.
They will never get another time of my money ever. Poor poor service
She braided my hair so tight that I was crying all night long when I got home. My scalp was bleeding too and I developed a bald spot and my hair fell out. Never going there again.
