This place was amazing. They had a few ladies cutting hair. A pleasant environment. Great with kids. And their haircutting skills were on point. I was recommended to this place by a friend who said they've been coming here for over 10 years. Now I think I found my new favorite barbers. All my kids just love their haircuts.
My father, two brothers and a hand full of friends have been getting our hair cuts at ultimate hair design for over twenty years! They never fail to execute a perfect haircut! Very fair rates and clean establishment. Guaranteed best fades.
Julie the owner, and my stylist, is great. She always gets you right in for a service. For me. A haircut and brow waxing. Responsible rates and she always makes sure that you're leaving satisfied. Definitely a satisfied, repeat customer! ????
I have been going here since 1989 yes that long same people all that time. Obviously they must do a very good job to be in business that long. Every haircut I've ever got from any of them have been perfect and exactly what I wanted. You couldn't ask for a better team of stylist in one place. My wife went there for the first time about 2 years ago for a perm and a cut and said why did she wait so long to try them instead she went to the name brand places and never got the cut and perm she wanted. And even with covid-19 they still are one of the businesses that has lasted through that nightmare. Congratulations to all of you.
My brother brought my mom here for her birthday, on a day when she was feeling down, and she is thrilled with both cut and color. They are good with all types of hair - several types if hair were being styled during my mom's visit, and they left with great-looking cuts.
She really enjoyed her conversation with her stylist, whom she describes as "nice and detail-oriented". She definitely plans to return for future haircuts!
Intro -
For a 20-year-old-man who decided to start taking care of his hair, this place was a good start! I needed to get a 5-centimeter haircut to get rid of most of the split ends.
Service -
Quite good. I came in without an appointment and only waited for about ten minutes. They asked me what I wanted, I told them, they did it, I paid for it, and was out in a flash. They did a good job too! My split ends are almost 100% gone!
Atmosphere -
Very Asian-influenced. Elegant, authentic (to a degree), and while I'd be lying if I said I was highly impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness, it's certainly adequate and good. No complaints from me. I believe this place also does nails, but I didn't detect any odors.
Cost -
A trim is $11, but they styled my hair s bit for me with layering and whatnot, which bumped it up to $16. But that's still very reasonable. Also funnily enough, they cut off most of my split ends using a straight razor.
Summary -
Would highly recommend, despite being more or less ignorant to proper hair care. Friendly staff and quality service for a good price. And you'd be supporting local business by going here!
I have been going to Ultimate Hair Design since April of 2004. I first went in for a pedicure at their second location (which closed 6 years ago or so.) It was a great experience. I then decided to entrust them with cutting and coloring my hair, which was a hard step for me, as I barely trust a soul due to too many past bad experiences.
Julie, the owner is my favorite stylist. We've built a good relationship over the last 13 years. 90 percent of the time I have left the shop extremely satisfied. (I say 90 percent because a few times in over 13 years my hair was cut a wee bit shorter than I wanted, but nothing too drastic.) However if Julie isn't available, I will request her sister Sara.
This place can get busy, so I recommend that female clients make an appointment. My boys have grown up getting their haircut here too (started at age 3/5 and their now 15/18!) The ladies are really quick and efficient when cutting their male clients and seems to be the majority of their customers.
The photo below is my most recent highlights I got, by Julie. I wanted subtle hues to brighten up my brown hair. I either style my hair with loose waves or use my flat iron. I'm happy! Oh and I drive all the way from the Oregon Coast to get my hair done. That has to tell you something.
