Oh my goodness, we booked for the Wednesday steak night special, and definitely weren't disappointed .
The steak was absolutely divine, melted in our mouths. Chips, sides and sauce were beautiful. And we have no complaints about the service, front of house, cleanliness or anything for that matter.
Such a fantastic and lovely chef, we look forward to coming again.
Please bring back a lunch time menu!! Something like hot meat baguettes or cobs and lite bites are seriously needed to cater for those who don’t want a full meal in the day time. You are missing out on a lot of trade because of this. It used to buzz years back all day long as the menu options were right. Daytime specials used to work really well and the oldies loved it. (Plenty of em in Wall Heath!)
The food we have actually had has been very good.
New decor good. New staff have been welcoming.
In my opinion- I wont be returning, as the veg was very aldente the yorkie so flat :/ I had just bought a pint of coke, went to pull the table towards the sofa I was sitting on and as the table was 'stuck' to the floor , wen it did move my drink went all over me! We were handed a roll of blue tissue and left to get on with it. Not asked what happened, if I was ok or any apologies. I wont be returning, which is a shame as I had high hopes for the place when I walked in. :(

Great afternoon out for my moms birthday. The staff were very helpful and polite, great selection of ales & Gin and the food was outstanding. Highly recommended ++
Looking forward to the chef starting towards the end of this month. Nice atmosphere, garden in back, parking. Have eaten twice there now, both meals were very good
Visited yesterday for Sunday Lunch and the 2 starts is NOT a reflection of the food,
After making a reservation a week before we walked in to find the table had a reservation note on it along with menus.
There was no cutlery or salt and peppers on any tables. We Asked to move as we don’t like eating at high table and sitting on stools.
I ordered at the bar and the food came before anything we had to ask for cutlery, This shouldn't happen, I've worked in this industry and in every establishment I have worked in the tables are/should always be laid up for your booking guests,
On finishing our meals we waited around 30 mins for our table to be cleared, the pub wasn't busy and all we could hear was laughing and joking coming from the kitchen and to top this a waitress came by and removed the menu's from the table and ignored the empty plates, I had to ask for them to be removed in the end
On reflection the food was delicious, Chef is doing a great job, Please take this criticism on board and work on the basics, This isnt the first time we have been for food and this isnt the first time this has happened, The front of house staff could do better
