A chance visit to The Shakespeare in Bethnal Green. Lovely people in a simple but welcoming pub. A lovely lady behind the bar, more than a match for any customer. However, a caskless pub so real ale drinkers won't be happy. I had a great pint and enjoyed the banter and feeling of the pub.

Tidy, clean & atmosphere was superb, 1st visit but now won't be our last, I would class it as a gem of a social meeting place.

1st impressions to me tell/say a lot about a person or a place, the Shakespeare stood out to me as a terrific pub.

The entertainment in place was great, had a great time & a great sing-a-long as well...

Traditional east end pub with some very friendly characters. Good choice of lagers, good place to watch the footy

Would be greateful if they kept the door closed while there's karaoke/ band playing, as a whole Bethnal Green Road may not be a fan of Bon Jovi (nor am I). Apart from it, classy oldschool east end bar.

Excellent boozer as a boozer should be , be prepared to have to wait for seat as the venue is quite small and compact . Brilliant service and reasonable prices for drinks etc .

Me and my daughter always use this pub before watching west ham. We travel from Bath and its our first stop in London. Great friendly staff and seems like a real old school boozer for locals who are equally as friendly with my young daughter. Good prices and excellent service. Would recommend to anyone

Great little pub and it was so cheap! Staff were great too. A proper locals pub so enjoyed having a few here!
