Excellent fish n chips, with great wine by the glass. Lovely place to catchup with friends & family. First time I have been back since the refurbishment. Looks gorgeous with quality food to match.

Popped over to the Golden Ball en route to Carters Steam fair this bank holiday weekend.

Was immediately greeted by the very friendly and likeable Chelsea who introduced herself to our group.

She politely explained that they had been suffering from some technical difficulties with the pos system and explained things may be a little slower as a result.

Food was ordered promptly and out within 30 minutes, all delicious and obviously cooked to order as apposed to batch.

Small discrepancy with the bill (probably as a result of the system failure) was rectified swiftly and without question.

The restaurant is fairly priced for the area, the premises were immaculately clean and tidy despite the busy weekend and us arriving early evening after an obviously busy day.

Decor, atmosphere and aesthetic’s are great, just what the place needed.

Hope to be returning in the future and wish the new owners the very best of luck with the venture, please come and support your local pub, the future looks bright for the Golden Ball!

Some of the best chicken wings I’ve ever had in a pub. So many other places do it so badly so it was amazing to get such a treat! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and all round establishment. Not stuffy but also not lacking in good service. 5 stars all round

The food was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious, it was a shame that they didn't have about 40% of their menu available. Similarly the wine list was very extensive, however more of the wines were unavailable than available.

Some of the waiting staff seem quite in experienced and this presents itself in a manner bordering on rudeness.

Hands down the best roast dinner out there! So much so that we are repeat customers and have taken friends and family for the Sunday roast and everyone has been impressed. The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Lovely pub, outstanding food and very friendly service. We will be back... again! :)

Food took 1hr to be delivered to the table after several trips to find out when our food would be delivered, despite the 30 minute wait time mentioned in the menu.

When the roast beef arrived, one plate had med rare when it should have been well done and the other was pink.

I ordered pork and because of the delay the meat was cold and the crackling had no fat and was very hard.

We also had a 19 month old child who was getting hungrier the longer the wait.

Did not enjoy the experience at all.

I heard that the golden ball had won awards for the best Sunday roast, when turning up it was busy and could see how popular it was, I love my roasts and have been to every pub imaginable in Maidenhead for a roast except here so the expectations were high. We got sat down and there was nothing on our table no cutlery, napkin’s ect, took a little while to be served understandable as it was busy, the roast was nice I did enjoy it I got myself the lamb for £23 but it wasn’t anything special definitely not the best roast I’ve had before, and found it a little bit pricey compared to others in the area. Would I go back ? Probably not.

The Golden Ball has been our local for many years but we have never been made to feel so welcome since Chelsey and family took over the pub in April. We have seen such a change for the better and really enjoy and look forward to our visits to our local pub, whether it be for a quick drink, dinner or Sunday roast the welcome is always so warm and friendly.

Chelsey & Sommer recently hosted my partners surprise 60th Birthday and what a fantastic night it was. I cannot thank and praise the whole team for the attention to detail in preparing the conservatory that looked absolutely stunning for this occasion, also for welcoming our party and seeing that everything was taken care of from start to finish. All the staff worked so very hard not just looking after our party but the main restaurant also another party in the CC Supper room. The feedback and comments from our party was how lovely and how friendly the staff were and how delicious the food was “compliment’s to your Chef” Clark never fails to deliver and Andy said his steaks are the best!

It's definitely 5 ***** from us. Look forward to seeing you all soon. J&A x
