A proper cafe serving traditional food at good prices. Hidden away just inside in the walls near to the River Dee, Cafe at The Walls is a place you should definitely seek out.
It’s a small, cosy cafe situated at the end of old town houses in Lower Bridge Street.
There is short stay parking bay’s near by and blue badge parking. However, there does not appear to be wheelchair access to the cafe.
Very welcoming, prompt service and a great English breakfast to set you up for the day.
Recommended .
Popped in here for a snack after walking by the river. It's dog friendly, which is great. The soup was spicy, and the bacon on the roll was nice. Friendly service.
Just let down that it was cold inside with no heat. I'm sure it will be ideal in the summer
Great little place for breakfast. Especially after a heavy night in Chester like us. Food is lovely and great service
Good friendly services only 7 tables food on the menu had a good range will be going back to try the food next time we go to Chester that is the only reason I have not given it any stars yet only had drinks this time as wee had already had something to eat and it is dog friendly as well
Average, no atmosphere, young servers just on their phones laughing at social media. Food was cooked well, milkshake was just milk not thick with ice cream - disappointing.
Stopped here to grab 2 coffee's to take out, after having 1 sip both went in the bin! After spending £8 for the coffee's (which is more expensive than popular coffee places) it was really disappointing.
Visited on the day of the Chester Marathon around 12ish so may have been busier than usual. It's very small inside so get's very busy as there are only a few tables. It felt a little uncomfortable trying to sit and eat when there was a queue of people snaking out of the door, standing over you as they're waiting to order.
We ordered a baked potato, hot sandwich and two baps and hot drinks. Took a little while to bring the drinks to us but we could tell they were very busy, to the point of being inundated with orders. The waitress did apologise for the wait, even offering to remake the drinks if they were not hot enough but they were fine, especially the cappuccino which was lovely. Food was nice and happy to see gluten free options on the menu. Would return.
The food was excellent quality and nicely cooked. Very pleasant staff. Clean and tidy.
