Friendly, professional, and fairly priced! Was in the area and stopped by for a quick trim - would recommend to others in Clearwater or visiting
I would like share some info with past, present and future customers of Sunset Point Barbershop. I was a barber here for about 5 years working for Tony. I Recently offered Doug Lewis, a current barber at Sunset Point, a position at McGuire’s Barbershop in Dunedin. I gave him every chance I could possibly could to work at my shop, McGuire’s barbershop, in downtown Dunedin. Instead all he wanted to do make changes to our current policies and and screw with appointment app and web site.He even added on our site his dog for sale in our store associated with app set up for him. Every day I found something that was not appropriate for someone on a probation period. I even recommended Sunset point for future employment after telling him to gather up his gear and leave. After leaving he said he was a day late asking for a job at Sunset Point that Ron had just hired two barbers the day before. Now it looks like he “IS” working there and also posted pictures of Sunset Point Barbershop On McGuire’s barbershop google account and also photos of his haircuts with his name on the photos. Very unethical. He also posted a 5 star review on my shop as an employee talking about sanitation because of “COLON” so beware of self reviews by him. I will also say that clients said that they were glad Doug is no longer at McGuire’s.
I have asked Doug for the review be taken down and photos be removed. I am man of my word. I will remove this review when his posted pictures and review is removed. Mine will stay up for the length his was public. Feel free to come see me and other former Barbers of Sunset Point Barbershop @ McGuire’s Barbershop in Dunedin.
Have used this shop in the past, seems it has changed hands....one guy and a dog....clean place but nobody was there and now I see why.....I went in for a buzz cut #2 and a shave....Got the buzz, damn near Marine High and Tite....good cut....all that was done was run the razor over my head....NO straight razor was used to shape.....as for the shave part....It was very disappointing......NO hot towel treatment.....shaving cream was runny and very loose, not thick.....and I was shaved with a "Safety razor".....NO straight razor or strapping was used.....then after that he run and "electric razor" back and forth over the face giving me a bit of a razor burn....NO hair tonic was use or even seen here......didn't even offer any aftershave or lotion for the face.....Then had the balls to ask for $60 bucks, this is NOT a barbershop......it's a "clip" joint......way too expensive, nothing really offered as far as service.....I recommend just staying away from this one.......My hair was not that long.....just over the ears.....just sayin'.....If he disputes this I will post pics.....just sayin'....
Excellent local barber shop with a friendly owner. Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. This is the place to go if you're looking for a classic barbershop and not one of the more modern, trendy oriented shops.
Ron is the by far the best barber I’ve ever had. If you haven’t tried this place, you need to go. He’s an extremely cool, nice and laid back guy and will do your hair exactly how you want it done. Coming back here every time!
Amazing remodel, the place looks as great as the men who walk out after their full service haircuts!
I brought in an elderly family friend because of it's convenient location, we return because of the attention to detail.
He looks forward to relaxing while they cut, buzz and razor trim his hair, then ear, nose and eyebrow trimming for the full treatment.
Highly recommend this establishment!

If you haven't tried this place in a while it's AWESOME and the best priced around! He's growing so no appointments needed yet and extended Sunday hours. I got a cut about a year ago ish and was not satisfied. Ron is the new owner (end of last year ish) and the place is all new and the cut was perfect. Big screen TVs, Kegerator, and most importantly he did exactly what I asked for. By far the best cut I've had since moving over to Clearwater. Have a beer while you wait. Found my new barber, Finally! Clean and completely updated. Can't say enough. I'll be there every 2 weeks.
I've been going here for 5+ years and this place is the best! Why is it so hard to find a good barber? I drive all the way down from NPR to get my haircut.
Tony and Bobbie do a great job every time.

Quick Facts About Sunset Point Barber Shop

Sunset Point Barber Shop has several strengths that are evident in the comments provided. Firstly, customers praise the shop for being friendly and professional. This indicates that the barbers are skilled and provide good customer service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. Additionally, the shop is described as fairly priced, which suggests that customers are getting value for their money. This is an important factor for many customers when choosing a barber shop.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the convenience of the shop's location. One customer mentioned that they brought an elderly family friend to the shop because of its convenient location. This indicates that Sunset Point Barber Shop is easily accessible to its target customers, making it a convenient choice for those in the area.
Furthermore, a customer praises the shop for its attention to detail. This suggests that the barbers at Sunset Point Barber Shop take the time to ensure that each haircut is done thoroughly and with precision. Attention to detail is an important aspect of any barber shop, as customers want to leave with a haircut that meets their expectations.
The shop also receives positive feedback for its recent remodel. The comments mention that the shop looks great and modern after the remodel. This indicates that the shop has invested in its appearance, creating a pleasant environment for customers. Aesthetics can play a significant role in attracting customers, so the remodel is a positive aspect of Sunset Point Barber Shop.
Additionally, the shop is commended for its new owner, Ron, who is described as friendly and talented. This indicates that the change in ownership has had a positive impact on the shop, resulting in satisfied customers. A new owner can bring fresh energy and ideas to a business, which seems to have benefited Sunset Point Barber Shop.
Despite these strengths, there are some weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One comment mentions that the shop was not busy and had only one barber and a dog present. This indicates that the shop may have staffing issues, which could result in longer wait times for customers or prompt them to seek services elsewhere. It also raises questions about the shop's ability to handle a high volume of customers.
Another weakness mentioned in a comment is the disappointment with the shave service. The customer states that there was no hot towel treatment, the shaving cream was runny, and a safety razor was used instead of a straight razor. This suggests that the shop may not provide the level of traditional shave services that some customers may expect from a barbershop. This could be a disadvantage in attracting customers who prioritize a traditional shave experience.
Furthermore, one comment mentions that the shop is overpriced and does not offer much in terms of services. The customer states that they were charged $60 for a buzz cut and shave, which they felt was too expensive considering the lack of extra services offered. This suggests that the shop may need to reevaluate its pricing strategy and consider offering additional services or amenities to justify the higher prices.
Overall, Sunset Point Barber Shop has several strengths, including its friendly and professional service, fair pricing, convenient location, attention to detail, and recent remodel. However, there are also weaknesses, such as potential staffing issues, a lack of traditional shave services, and a perception of being overpriced. Addressing these weaknesses could further improve the shop's reputation and attract more customers.
