Wondered in on a whim, and so glad I did. You know you’re in a good pub when above the bar is photos of the locals dogs.
Great vibe, very friendly and less than £4 a pint. Absolute winner
This is a great pub that does exactly what it says on the tin, it's a real British pub serving some great British ales. I personally believe they are some of the best looked after beers in Lichfield, not only that but they offer the biggest CAMRA discount in Lichfield - 10%.
The obvious other drinks and lagers are available too, often with special offers such as 3 Bud for £5 (or something like that).
It's generally a more mature clientele who use the pub and very few chavs which makes a pleasant change.
The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming, even to some of the grumpy sods who like to moan (you know who you are)..
By far one of the best pubs in lichfield, the staff are amazing, very competent and nothing is too much trouble for them! My dog absolutely loves walking here for a pint where she gets a bowl of water and a yummy treat.. not forgetting cuddles from her favourite ladies, Mel, Kat and Alana!

I like this pub a great deal. I don’t imagine it looks any different from what it did in 1974 which is a major part of its appeal along with a good selection of ales.
