They say they do locs here but I would not recommend it at all. I came 1/10/23 to get my starter locs and I was happy with them, even though they don’t do color. The problem came when I returned for my 2 week retwist yesterday 1/24. I actually feel stupid because I called the day before to make sure that the same lady that did my starter locs would be doing my retwist. They said she would be there; it would be the same lady. I got there later and the original woman wasn’t there. I said I’d just come back at a later time, but a lady insisted she could do it. I was still hesitant but she said she was the owner, she picked that other lady, and so of course she was sure she could do it. So I trusted the owner to do my hair right and stayed.
By the time I got from under the dryer, the original woman that started my locs came. That means I could have just came back later that day and had the original lady that started my locs. The owner could have and should have told me that the lady I wanted to do my hair was just coming in later.
When I went to pay, the owner had disappeared, presumably because it was her time to go home for the day. The original lady that started my locs took my payment. I was shocked they charged the same price as the original starter twist when this was just a retwist. Then the original woman refused to let me tip. I should have known then it was because she saw the owner did a poor job.
I also wasn’t given a mirror to get a closer look at the hair. The attached pictures were taken as soon as I got home, less than an hour since the appointment. The locs are lumpy and inconsistent. A lot of them have large puffs. I just feel very ripped off and like what was done yesterday could impact the look of my dreads for years onwards. How you take care of young dreads impacts how they look years down the line. Now, I’ve wasted hard earned money, and I need to come up with more to get a consultation from a loctician. And that loctician might very well say I need to start over.
Seeing how they let me walk out with my hair like that, I don’t want to ever go back and I wouldn’t trust them to try to fix my hair, even for free. Don’t come here for dreadlocks and I wouldn’t even suggest you come for braids, because it seems like if they make a mistake they’ll just let you pay and walk out anyway.

Quick Facts About Queen African Hair Braiding
Queen African Hair Braiding Place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. To analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the business, we will examine the following factors: service quality, customer satisfaction, professionalism, punctuality, pricing, and communication.
Starting with service quality, there are mixed reviews. One customer praised the braiders as great and efficient, while another mentioned inconsistent results with lumpy and uneven locs. This indicates that the service quality may vary depending on the stylist assigned to the customer.
Customer satisfaction appears to be lacking in some cases. One customer felt ripped off and expressed concerns about the impact of a poorly done retwist on their hair for years to come. Another customer mentioned that their braids unraveled after just one day. These negative experiences suggest a lack of attention to detail and an unsatisfactory end result for some customers.
In terms of professionalism, there are both positive and negative comments. Some customers praised the owner's friendliness and stated that the prices were fair. However, there were also complaints about the behavior of the braiders. One customer mentioned that a braider made rude comments about their appearance in another language, highlighting a lack of professionalism and respect.
Punctuality is a clear weakness for Queen African Hair Braiding Place. Multiple customers mentioned long wait times, with one customer waiting for over four hours before their hair was started. This shows a lack of respect for customers' time and a failure to meet scheduled appointments.
Pricing is another area of concern. One customer felt overcharged for a retwist, stating that it should have been priced lower than the original starter twist. However, another customer mentioned that the prices were fair. The conflicting opinions make it unclear whether the pricing is consistently reasonable.
Communication also seems to be a weakness for the business. One customer was not informed that the stylist they preferred would be coming in later, causing unnecessary inconvenience. Another customer mentioned that the owner disappeared when it was time to pay. These incidents indicate a lack of effective communication with customers, leading to confusion and frustration.
In conclusion, Queen African Hair Braiding Place has both strengths and weaknesses. The positive aspects include good braiding skills, a friendly owner, fair pricing, and timely service for some customers. However, there are clear weaknesses in terms of service consistency, customer satisfaction, professionalism, punctuality, pricing transparency, and communication. Improvement in these areas would enable the business to provide a more reliable and satisfactory experience for their customers.
