Not particularly happy with the door staff at this facility. Me and my friend were walking into the pub behind a bunch of boys who were in a separate party - they let the door swing back in my friend’s face (accidentally), but the bouncer just assumed my friend was too drunk when he’d only had about two drinks. He said “too drunk mate” and ushered him out with his hand against his back as if he was causing distress to the public which he is the last person to do so. We calmly tried multiple times to explain that the door hit my friend which took him aback but he wasn’t having any of it. I expressed my frustration towards him, to which he replaced “don’t come back love”. It was a total misunderstanding in al honesty but we are the last people ever to behave in a disorderly manner and it was just a bit degrading.
Somewhat good night with a bunch of friends and colleagues in here. Left swiftly after the most aggressive doorman on earth screamed at me for standing on the foot rest of the chair I was sitting on. A disgusting way to speak to a paying customer who was having a good time. He then continued to look at me to ensure I didn't do it again. I was standing up off the chair at one point and he started walking back in my direction before realising that I was on the ground. A shame this happened as we where having a good old time. There was absolutely no need for this type of behaviour, pity I won't be back due to one individual.
The food in the oak bank is fantastic! Great price and very tasty. Pub it's self is clean and accessible to all due to its wheelchair level access. My only negative is when the play football it does get a bit rowdy and some people can take this a bit too far.
The staff are Great, nice clean pub and decent location. Try the steak pie.
The cider was cheap.
The jukebox a nice gimmick until you realise that there's karaoke night and the music got cranked up way too much. We had to leave because of how loud and overturned the music was :(((...
Never had a bad meal in here. Staff are friendly and attentive. Great for watching football on big screen, but be early for best seats, especially with World Cup starting soon.
