Do not be intimidated by the small storefront - I had a wonderful and enjoyable time at New City One Salon! I called ahead of time to make an appointment. I went there with an open mind, just wanting to improve my hair texture (I have dry, coarse & frizzy hair).
Dan 林师傅 examined my hair and talked through a few different treatment options - including hot oil, keratin... we ended up choosing 水疗 repair treatment because it was the least harmful to my hair. It involved putting a 3-step process of products on my hair and it didn't require heat to seal in the nutrition. The brand is Milbon - I did some research after I left and found out that it is high quality brand from Japan and does not have any silicone or phosphates (huge plus in my mind).
He also helped chop off my hair ends and ended the haircut with a blow dry and adjustments. My hair ended up feeling silky and healthy, and no longer frizzy! The pricing was very fair and I am glad that my money is going to a hard-working small salon rather than a bougie chain. Bring cash!
The best part was talking to Dan. I found out that we are from the same city and we bonded over our experiences. Made me feel nostalgic. Loved hearing his stories as a working-class immigrant (because, same).
I will be back!

It's a small salon that looks recently renovated. The person who took care of me was very nice and helpful! He did a great job with my hair! The price for a long hair cut with shampoo was only 28dollars. Very satisfied!
I love this salon! It is small but does the job incredibly. Lily gave me layers and permed my curtain bangs and hair. She trimmed my bangs perfectly and the perm also turned out great. Lily took great care of me while I was there. I’m happy with my hair, especially for such a low cost!!

I have loved every haircut I received here. First of all, it is incredibly affordable (below $30 for woman's haircut). Secondly, they listen to what you want and respect what you think. Third, they pay attention to the details and you can speak up along the way. Don is the absolute best. His quality of work is high and he is very kind to his customers. I question why I ever received crazy expensive haircuts in the past when you can get a service like this for this price.
What an amazing business. Don was such a friendly guy and he helped me achieve the blonde I have always wanted. The price point was great, customer service was amazing! He even gave me some moon cake and Don really goes above and beyond for the customer. He stayed after close and even trimmed some of my side hair.
