On the road, it is difficult to find establishments that cater for the needs of HGV drivers especially in built up areas.
The moat cafe, is with out doubt, exceptional.
The outside of the cafe is spotless, with no litter or overflowing bins, and ample parking for class 1 drivers looking for the best food in the area.
The inside of the cafe is warm and welcoming, and well laid out with seating spaced out comfortably.
Very clean with a warm atmosphere I was welcomed upon my arrival, and given exceptional service.
The menu is wide and varied ranging from the traditional British breakfast to a burger that would make burger King green with envy.
All food is cooked to order ensuring a delicious piping hot meal with great value for money
Fresh vegetables and delicious meats, make this truck stop one that I will definitely be coming back too, as the service and food is without doubt some of the best I have eaten on the road.
There is no overnight parking here, nor WiFi, but if this was added to the venue, and made into a 24 hour truck stop, I am sure that a fortune would easily be made.
A superb cafe and trucks top, with the warmth and welcome that mancunians and Manchester is so well known for.
Long may it continue for them
Been coming to this place since it was called the bug hut in the 70s and 80s with dad in his lorry, now come here in my own lorry. Still a great place for a breakfast at a good price. Staff are always friendly. For a 3 minute diversion off the M6 you can have a nicely cooked meal instead of the usual fast food rubbish on the nearby services.
I called in here on the off chance with a colleague from Stoke on our way to a meeting in wigan (we both work in plant transport and rail) We both agreed it was a generous and very nice breakfast. No complaints, The service was friendly and the food Definitely value for money. Delicious and filling. I highly recommend this cafe. There's penty of parking for vans / cars and turning for artics.
Lovely place, very clean and tidy, nice staff very welcoming. Huge portions and tasty food. We'll be back for sure.
Food's excellent. Much higher quality than you'd usually get at a roadside cafe.

Gorgeous brekky, clean dining area and wonderful friendly staff. Great prices too.
