Had a nice little family stroll round here. It’s a shame the paths down to the river are blocked off but other than that it was a good walk. Nice water feature near the bottom and a maze that kids loved running around and burning off energy in. There is a bandstand which was great to see. Public toilets are downstairs in the museum at the top of the park where you will also find a little shop selling T-shirt’s, sweaters, bags, planters etc a lot of which is made on site.
A beautiful park to visit with family, pet or even if by oneself for a nice walk. The park is very tranquil and has a few steep inclines so could for jogging or walking for fitness. The pathway to river is blocked off for safety reasons and is a shame as this would be ideal to view. There is a museum and also a cafe within the park as well as a bowling green. All in all a great park to visit.
Spent a pleasant hour wandering through the park whilst waiting for a friend who had gone for a run. Classic Victorian/Edwardian layout and full of interesting features, trees and plants. Not to be missed!
Very nice park, well set out and maintained. Clean and mostly litter free which makes a pleasant change. Attended for a sausage walk with fellow dachshund owners and everyone seemed to have a good time, especially the little sausage dogs.
Not from Stockport but I will say they should be proud of this park.
Well organised and we'll maintained, watching people perform at the bandstand is a great way to spend a sunny day.
Peaceful, relaxing and tranquil in summer a bit baron in late November. An old fashioned garden park, where the foot paths bend round so you can take more in. Like Stockport Vernon park isn't short on hills and steps. There is a lower car park and another up top by woodbank park, both parks share a cafe with WC. There is a rose garden and ample benches.
This park is one of the most beautiful in Stockport and is perfect for dog walking, family days out and you will often find people exercising in the park and with such a luscious backdrop who can blame them.
steps and river path reopen will be amazing
