Nothing fancy here folks, but it is darned good old time solid value here! Place is clean, staff was friendly, and the food quite tasty. The smoked chopped pork barbecue was as it should be. The standard coleslaw was tasty, the baked potato couldn't be better and the hushpuppies are fine. You order and pay at the counter, then go pick up your order when your number is called. But oh my stars...what a bargain! And that process helps keep their value and food so good. 4-1/2 stars would be my actual rating. Yes I recommend and will return! Two plates as pictured on the daily special will cost less than $13 with tax if you drink water. Can't pass that up! Good variety on the menu, too.
The other time I was here I was pretty satisfied...but this "triple threat burger" for 5.99 without fries or anything but an overpriced sweet tea (1.89 for medium)was a complete disappointment. Like some kind of junior burger....maybe stick with the plates and avoid their "specials"
This used to be a great place with great food. It is not the same. They have modernized and lost the feel of family. Food less than good. No more home cooked meals here. Will not be back
Good food at a great price! Plates like this would be twice the price and half as good down at the coast.
This restaurant has great food, good staff and waitresses. The price for what you receive is well worth it. I normally get the flounder and it is really good.
Apparently most of what they have listed on the menu at the front, they do not actually have available. I tried to order three different things and they were all out so I had to end up with a hot dog. I did not know that it came loaded with the most soured slaw I had ever tasted and chili (I assume?) that looked worse than anything I've ever fed my dog. The Mac n cheese was standard cafeteria stuff, probably Stouffer's, but old, cold and hard.
The guy in the kitchen with the grey hoodie was annoyed by me trying to fix my meal by just getting a plain hot dog. No other solutions were offered so unfortunately the food went in the trash.
I've never been disappointed. Food is always fresh . High quality at a cheap price. Stopped here for breakfast. Wow unbelievable. 2 eggs tenderloin(2pieces) gravy and biscuits (2). $4.25 where else are you gonna find breakfast plate that cheap? Did I mention the biscuits were homemade? The gravy didn't come from a mix. I absolutely love this place!!!
I've always had good food and great service.This review was longer than 3 wks ago. The only thing I got what I ordered was coleslaw. Its a good thing I can eat Bellpeppers. And I ordered ff and got tatter tots. Maybe they ran out of FF. Don't know whats going on but I hope they get it fixed. And my container was melted in areas. And the cashier was really nice.
