Decent place for haircut. A sign needs to be place directly on door entrance, indicating "cash only" as well as at the sign-in sheet. Signs must be placed where the eyes naturally tend to look. Doing so will less likely upset potential customers.
Possibly making customers more likely to return, knowing its cash only, rather than irritating them to never return and tell others to do the same. Also, when you're cutting a customers hair, please stay off your phone. And if you can't talk and cut hair at the same time, at least keep talking to a minimum. The person getting the haircut as well as the people waiting to get a haircut want to get in and out. Some enjoy talking, but more people enjoy their time.
I needed a haircut and found Joe's, and the rating was 4.7, so I thought I'd get a decent haircut. This was one of the worst haircuts I've gotten as an adult. I asked for a fade, and the barber, who has been cutting hair since 1967, didn't really know what it was. The whole haircut I was turned away from the mirror. He spent at least 20 minutes on my neckline and trimming over my ears. He barely touched the rest of my hair. He gave me a mirror, and it looked like I was wearing a football helmet. Totally round -- as unlike a fade as it gets. I asked him to cut the sides shorter and to take a little off the top. He spent about a minute with clippers and literally buzzed up the side of my head and cut off a chunk of the hair on top of my head on one side -- hair that even someone with no training would comb out of the way when cutting the side. I gave myself much better haircuts during lockdowns in the pandemic. I'll be wearing a hat for a month until a real barber can fix it. Stay away from this place. Seriously. Any place is better. Even you with scissors and a mirror would be better.
Went in and asked for a low fade #1. The sides and back of my head literally looked like I got stairs on it. I guess they been around for too long to know what a fade is...
Great place for a wonderful haircut & shave. A great barber is hard to find but you will be satisfied. Homely and friendly service
My rating is based on my experience with my barber Thomas, and that's the only reason I come here. I've been looking around for a while for a good Barber and he has always been consistent and cut it just the way I like it. He emphasizes on the fade which is seldomly done in my past experiences elsewhere.
Have been going here for several years, super friendly.
Thomas is the greatest barber I've ever found.
CASH ONLY ???? Walk in only, no appointments and every barber is skilled, at least 10 years each! Lots of seating space, if you're pressed on time, go between about 9-11 in the morning after the morning rush and before the lunch rush. Usually 3 to 4 barbers working so they get you in and out quickly.

Quick Facts About Joe's Barber Shop

Joe's Barber Shop has a few strengths that can be highlighted. Firstly, the shop is described as having a "homely and friendly service." This suggests that the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, which can be appealing to customers. Additionally, the comment mentions that the barbers have at least 10 years of experience each, indicating that they are experienced and skilled in their craft. This can help reassure customers that they are in capable hands.
Another strength of Joe's Barber Shop is the availability of multiple barbers. The comment states that there are usually 3 to 4 barbers working, which allows for quicker service and shorter wait times. This can be especially valuable for customers who are pressed for time and need to get in and out quickly.
The cash-only policy of Joe's Barber Shop can also be seen as a strength in certain circumstances. The comment suggests that there is a need for signs to indicate that the shop only accepts cash. This can help manage customer expectations and avoid any potential issues or frustrations when it comes time to pay. Some customers may prefer cash-only establishments as it can offer a sense of simplicity and transparency in transactions.
However, there are also some weaknesses that can be identified based on the comments. One major issue mentioned is the lack of knowledge and skill displayed by some of the barbers. The comment highlights a specific incident where the customer asked for a fade haircut, but the barber did not know what it was and ended up giving a poor haircut. This lack of expertise can be a major drawback for customers who are seeking specific styles or techniques.
Another weakness is the lack of professionalism and focus displayed by some of the barbers. The comment mentions that a barber was constantly on their phone during a haircut, which can be seen as disrespectful and unprofessional. This detracts from the overall experience and may leave customers feeling ignored or frustrated.
Additionally, the comment also mentions issues with the quality of the haircuts received. Multiple customers describe their haircuts as poor, with uneven cuts and incorrect styles. This inconsistency in the quality of service can be a significant disadvantage for Joe's Barber Shop as it can lead to dissatisfied customers who may not return or recommend the shop to others.
Finally, the lack of appointment options may also be seen as a weakness. The comment states that the shop only accepts walk-ins and does not offer appointments. While this may work well for some customers who prefer flexibility, it can be inconvenient for others who may have busy schedules or prefer to plan their appointments in advance.
In conclusion, Joe's Barber Shop has strengths such as a friendly atmosphere, experienced barbers, and a cash-only policy. However, there are weaknesses in terms of the lack of knowledge and professionalism displayed by some barbers, inconsistency in haircuts, and the absence of appointment options. Addressing these weaknesses can help Joe's Barber Shop improve customer satisfaction and attract new customers.
