The best family run Chippy in Woking. Been going there for years and the food has always been lovely. Very friendly owners. Thanks again for our tasty dinner????????
My go to chippy, food is always hot, fish and plain sausage cooked to perfection. A family run business, very polite and generous with its portions. Fantastic chippy try it out....
Brilliant fish and chips, pies and wonderful collection of drinks.
Locally run fish and chip shop with reasonable prices. We came here on a Friday evening and ordered haddock and cod with chips. The chips were delicious, but we thought the fish was a little dry and oily. Not sure if it had been left under the heater for too long. The shop is also cash only
Great fish and chips, although sometimes you dont get amazing chips but with a sort, you can find plenty of good chips to feed a family of 3. Been going here for over five years now and have become a regular. Lovely staff and good value for money. I thoroughly recommend going.
Never had a bad takeaway from here! Large portion of chips are hugh, so you need to be really hungry to eat one all to yourself.
Chips taste great, and are not great, and fish is very tasty (again large fish is for big appetites only).
Good selection of pies and sausages that you would expect from a decent chippy!
My son gets fish and chips from here. He loves them.
He says
“it is wrapped up nicely into a small convient bag topped with free chip sticks that are classic and everybody loves!
the fish is crispy and fresh and the size is great”
Best fish and chips in Surrey. Amazing staff that are very welcoming and the food was wonderful. I would highly recommend trying it, if you haven't already.
Quick Facts About Happy Fish Bar
Happy Fish Bar has received overwhelmingly positive reviews in the comments provided. This family-run chippy in Woking is known for its delicious food, friendly owners, and reasonable prices. However, there are a few areas where Happy Fish Bar could improve.
One of the main strengths of Happy Fish Bar is its long-standing reputation as the best family-run chippy in the area. It is evident that many customers have been going there for years and have always enjoyed their meals. The food is consistently described as lovely, hot, and cooked to perfection. The owners are praised for being very friendly and polite, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. This personal touch is appreciated by many patrons who feel a sense of loyalty towards the establishment.
Portions are also mentioned as a strength of Happy Fish Bar. Customers describe the portion sizes as generous, allowing them to feel satisfied after their meals. It is noted that the large portion of chips is particularly substantial and can feed a family of three. This aspect of the chippy is seen as good value for money.
The quality of the fish and chips is another strength. Many customers praise the taste of the chips and describe them as great. The fish is also commended for being crispy, fresh, and tasty. These positive reviews indicate that the main dishes served at Happy Fish Bar are of high quality and consistently well-prepared.
In terms of weaknesses, one critique mentioned is that the fish can sometimes be dry and oily. This may indicate that there is inconsistency in the cooking process, with some batches of fish being overcooked or left under the heat lamps for too long. This issue should be addressed to ensure that all customers receive consistently delicious and well-prepared fish.
Another weakness highlighted in one comment is that Happy Fish Bar is cash only. In an increasingly cashless society, this may inconvenience some customers who prefer to pay with card or mobile payment methods. Implementing alternative payment options could improve the overall customer experience and attract a wider range of customers.
Overall, Happy Fish Bar has many strengths, including its excellent food, friendly owners, generous portions, and reasonable prices. The weaknesses identified, such as occasional dry and oily fish and the cash-only policy, can be addressed to further enhance the overall dining experience. By maintaining their strengths and addressing these weaknesses, Happy Fish Bar can continue to build on its reputation as the best chippy in Woking.
