JENNA! JENNA! JENNA! This is THE BEST experience I have ever had! I got a cut and color from Jenna and it was spectacular! I actually got sticker shock at the end of how well priced it was. I had just had my hair butchered at another place for $50 more. She was so reassuring and I cried at the end because she was able to make my hair look like it had never been ruined in the first place. Jenna is busy so book early but if you can’t she’s sooo worth the wait!

My long search is over! I met Sally over the summer when she cut my hair before the open of the Shakespeare Festival. Fast forward 3 months and I came into her studio and got the VIP treatment. I came in having a heck of a day with school and work stuff. But all that melted away in my 45 minutes with Sally. Great, warm vibes and a beautiful studio overall Thank you so much for taking 15 years off me today!

Absolutely loved my first experience here! Definitely will be returning. Sally and Gary (owners) are some of the nicest people and Jodi (my hairdresser) absolutely nailed the look and feel of the trim and style I was wanting for this Summer without much direction from me! She is one of the first stylist to get my bangs and part to go the way I wanted it too. They are a no tip salon and so it is convenient that the shampoo, trim n style was all built into one price (I would have definitely been happy about tipping Jodi though if they would have taken it because it is well deserved). All the staff seems sweet and friendly and it is a great and welcoming atmosphere. Five stars and then some!!!

First time customer! My impressions of this salon was truly restoring! I am picky and not good with changes. I also have always left salons not feeling satisfied. This experience changed that! Sally the receptionist is so sweet and warm. She was kind about my own mistake and helped me to the correct location. Even though I was a few minutes late they turned my uneasy-anxious feeling into my normal self. Felt right at home. On top of that Meghan who did my hair was amazing. She carefully listened to each thing I wanted and did not want. She let me know step by step and took her time to do a quality job. I can tell she truly loves what she does and actually does an awesome job at doing it. The salon was spacious and clean as well! Very hard to find this great of business these days. I truly have not one complaint. Sally even called days after my apt. to make sure I was happy, to let them know if I had any questions, etc. I will forever be a customer from here on out! Thank you ladies for all you do!!!

Jenna has done absolutely amazing things with my hair. She’s one of the friendliest people I’ve met, and she has an easygoing and relaxed demeanor, but she’s very detail-oriented and professional as well. I’ve become a celebrity at work after a new dye to hot pink. No one can believe how even the color is! It’s a little expensive, but you pay for what you get. I tell everybody about this place.

I had my first appointment this morning with Marcey, an amazingly talented professional. I have a faux hawk with straight, thin, wildly colicky platinum hair that I color myself. This is the best cut and styling I have ever received. I am gonna have my husband, who gets a true flat-top, see her next! I highly recommend her. Also, the salon is beautiful atmosphere and incredibly clean. Highly recommended!!

Megan did great work with my hair! I had just moved to Bloomington and had a 4-month growth of gray! She listened to my suggestion to go "conservative" with the cut and color. The staff and other stylists were very friendly, and I already have my next appointment. I highly recommend First Edition!

Update: Jackie is no longer at First Edition. If you'd like to give her a try, she is at Magnolia Salon in Bloomington. The nice thing about First Edition is no tipping, I wish it was that way everywhere.

Original review: Awesome! So happy. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and I do not straighten it. I want to wear it curly and it's been impossible finding a stylist in this area who not only knows how to correctly cut curly hair but also how to take care of it. Jackie did a terrific job on my hair. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to look and she cut it perfectly. I have found my new stylist.
