Sorry, but I came in with a smile and I’ve shown you a picture of a low fade with a slick back exactly on point I wanted my hair to look and you shaved back of my head when you weren’t supposed to and the front of my hair isn’t even straight, the sides of my head aren’t straight cut and back line isn’t either. Come on dude it was my first time going there, thought you’ll be a pro like you say in your voicemail. The service is good but your skills aren’t. Now I got to deal with the ridiculous hair cut
My husband's 2nd visit in 2 yrs. I thought he learned the 1st time. But this isn't a bald fade, you can clearly see the line of separation. My hubby usually cuts his own hair but since I get mad at cleaning up the mess I made him go to a barber, and so after paying $35, he still does not seem to have a haircut so it seems like I'll be cleaning my restroom again tonight after he's done fixing his hair.
Adding 6 days later: now look at what a real haircut looks like????
Joe and his Father are true American barbers. They both take their time paying attention to the smallest of details creating a artistic take on hair stylings. Any Barber that uses a razor to finish the line up for additional detail is a rare find. And Joe does this naturally. Totally worth the visit. Go see him and his father. You will not regret it.
Final notes... They are pro-military. So my fellow service members tell them SGT Galloway sent you.
Top 5% haircuts I've had in my life. Joshua did an amazing job, and my hair looked great even 3 weeks later.
Cash only.
I’ve been going here since 2007/8. Been a regular. Been getting amazing cuts. But the professionalism isn’t there with some of the barbers. There have been NUMEROUS times where I’ll be waiting for 15 - 20 minutes past my appointment time to get cut, and 2 occasions where I show up and the barber wasn’t even there. One of those times was the early morning time slot. I showed up at 8:55am for my 9 o’clock appointment. Waited till 9:50. No one showed up.
Recently, I booked a 5 o’clock appointment by phone. I get a phone call from Josh saying their “system” was messed up, and that I could get a 4:30 slot or a 5:30 slot on the same day. I said 5:30 was fine. I get a call at 5:10 asking where I was, I said my appointment was changed to 5:30. Steve, the barber on the phone, said it wasn’t. I told him Josh rescheduled my appointment. Josh then got on the phone and said that the system was messed up, he had double booked me, even though I was already on Steve’s schedule. So he assumed I would go in at 5 for Steve, so he booked another person for the 5:30 time slot that he put me down for. WITHOUT reaching out and notifying me…? I told them I could get there in 10 minutes if Steve was ok with that, Steve understandably didn’t want to wait.
Either way, I’m done. You would think they would be a little more apologetic to someone who’s been a customer for so long. First review I’ve ever written, and I feel bad doing it cuz the owner is a really nice guy and has been making improvements and trying to make it more professional. But this was the last straw for me ????????‍♂️
It is hard to find a better barber in Fremont than Don's barber shop. It is run by friendly people. I got my hair cut from Miguelina, she is an amazing barber.
Two good haircuts in a row from two different people. One was a younger woman on the end chair (Daughter?) and the other was a younger dude in the middle (David).
Never had to make an appointment, rolled in on a Tuesday at lunch time and had either no wait or a short wait.
I kept trying to go to "the place down the street", but got sick of attempting to book an appointment 2 weeks out or blocking off my whole Saturday for their walk-in setup.
Worst experience and haircut. We had a function to attend and they cut my sons hair so poorly that if someone were to close their eyes and cut his hair it would have been much better. If it were possible I would give them zero stars. The lady that works here said that if you dont like the haircut then you dont have to pay but that wouldnt have fixed my sons hair. We will never go here again and recommend no one else does.

Quick Facts About Don's Barber Shop

Don's Barber Shop has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one commenter mentions that Joe and his Father are "true American barbers" who pay attention to small details and create artistic hair stylings. This implies that the barbers at Don's Barber Shop have a high level of skill and expertise in their craft. Additionally, the comment mentions that they use a razor for finishing touches, which is considered to be a rare find and adds to the quality of the haircut. Another strength mentioned is that they are pro-military, which indicates that they show support for service members and may offer special discounts or services to military personnel.
Another positive aspect of the barber shop mentioned in the comments is the quality of the haircuts. One commenter states that they have had a top 5% haircut of their life and that their hair still looked great even three weeks later. This suggests that the barbers at Don's Barber Shop are capable of delivering high-quality haircuts that last.
Additionally, the convenience of the barber shop is highlighted in the comments. One person mentions that they never had to make an appointment and that they were able to walk in without a long wait time. This indicates that Don's Barber Shop offers an accessible and efficient service for customers who prefer a more casual and spontaneous approach to getting their hair cut.
Moving on to the weaknesses, it is evident from the comments that there are issues with the professionalism and reliability of some barbers at Don's Barber Shop. One commenter mentions waiting for 15-20 minutes past their appointment time on multiple occasions, and even experiencing instances where the barber was not present for the appointment. Another commenter shares a negative experience where their appointment was double-booked and they were not informed, leading to confusion and inconvenience. This lack of professionalism and reliability can be off-putting for customers and may result in a loss of trust and loyalty.
Furthermore, a commenter expresses dissatisfaction with the haircut they received for their son, stating that it was a poor cut and that they would give zero stars if possible. The commenter also mentions that the offer to not pay for the haircut did not rectify the situation. This suggests that there may be inconsistency in the quality of the haircuts provided at Don's Barber Shop, leading to potential customer dissatisfaction.
Lastly, Don's Barber Shop only accepts cash as mentioned in one comment. While this may not be a major concern for some customers, it can be inconvenient for those who rely on electronic payment methods or prefer the convenience of paying with a card.
In conclusion, Don's Barber Shop has strengths in terms of skilled barbers, artistic hair stylings, military support, and the quality and longevity of haircuts. However, they have weaknesses in terms of professionalism, reliability, and inconsistency in haircut quality. The acceptance of only cash may also be a disadvantage for some customers. The overall perception of the barber shop may be undermined by these weaknesses, despite the positive aspects mentioned in the comments.
