I have been going to Dominican Sisters Hair Salon in Elmont, NY for YEARRRRSSSS!!! It is always magical. The place has a good energy about it, and so do all the ladies that work there. I have kept my hair natural (without any chemical straightening process) for 12 years now, so I appreciate the love, care, and patience that goes into my hair whenever I do get it blown-out/straightened there. At the close of each styling session, a smile is brought to my face. Not only do I leave with beautiful, well-cared for hair; I also leave with my spirits lifted for the time I spent with these lovely people! I would give this place FIFTEEN stars if I could!! ???? I highly recommend this salon to others looking for a great styling experience! :-) ????
I am a natural hair lady (4b), I came for a wash deep conditioning, trim and blow dry. my hair became severely heat damaged. the ladies were very nice. I was done in about an hour 15 minutes. After I got into the pool I smelled a chemical, I thought it may have come from someone at the park. when I got home to wash out the chlorine the smell was more pronounced. After 5 shampoos, 1 aphogee treatment and a deep conditioner I still have extremely stringy hair. that was a first and last for me.
Service is slow, if you are allergic to anything and give that information it is ignored and the shampoo in a Nexus bottle is not Nexus. You are better off bringing what products you want. If you value your time go somewhere else, it took more than 4 hours to turn my hair pink and 5 hours to correct.
No one should be subject to the way this business operate with the misleading on the prices the hair styling, I'm not sure how they get their employees but I know for sure the are over charging the customers for the work they do, I would never refer anyone to this place it very bad for business.
Wanted a salon who would listen and take good care of my hair and Dominican Sister did just that!! Did a full weave, trim ends and colored my hair. Definitely will be back!
Did a horrible haircut for my daughter. Made us wait for an hour and had no idea how to do a basic haircut. A dog was roaming around when we are allergic to the dog and bad attitude was given when asked to keep it away from us. The brushes were dirty and over priced haircut which was horrible .. zero stars for the unfriendly behavior as well.
Highways at Dominican Sisters Salon today to get my hair done twist-lock and I was quoted $75 but after my hair was done the person that did it told me I had to pay 200 she lied about the price and that was bad for business I will never come back here and give them any business anymore
By far the best Dominican Salon in Elmont area. The service is exceptional and they all do an outstanding job. I have been a loyal customer for years and every time I get my hair done I leave satisfied. Highly recommend this place.
