I really don’t like going to hair salons because of previous bad experiences but I had one of the best experiences today with Perry at Cutting Edge. He is an amazing stylist. He listened what I look for for a haircut then discussed with me the options and how it would look etc. He was meticulous and made sure it looks perfect. I am extremely satisfied and happy and look forward to come back for coloring.

I don’t do reviews but this spot deserves 5 stars! Extremely happy with their service. Very friendly staffs, and I got the most gentle relaxing shampoo & massage session.

And A+++ hair cut that I’m so glad that I tried this plce. I used to go to a Japanese hair salon but due to COVID they closed down permanently, so I was looking for a new salon. I was hesitant in the beginning to be honest because the price is on the expensive side (if you were thinking about regular Chinese hair salons around the neighborhood).

But Anthony immediately understood exactly what I wanted and my hair came out better than I had imagined. He was polite and attentive to your hair needs and very professional with his skills.

I wanted a thinned out, shaggy and choppy medium length bob haircut with texture, and I got what I wanted.

This is the only place in the New York area that I’ll get my hair done at. Heck, if I moved, I think I would still come back to NYC just to get my hair done. Marco has always done a fantastic job and I always get SO many compliments on my hair. I’ve referred people and they’ve all said the same thing: best haircut ever. I moved to BK and tried a new place and immediately went back so Marco could fix it. It’s also very affordable. Most places are hard to get a cut that isn’t more than $100 and here it’s less which is nice too.

Most of the time I ramble because I don’t know what I want and Marco gives me recommendations based on my head/styling/hair type. As far as COVID they have so many precautions - no waiting room, taking temperature and they have a face shield for you, not just the stylist.

TLDR; go here and you’ll never worry about haircuts again.

Really appreciated my stylist Perry and his patience doing my Balayage, which can take 4-5hours. I had a previous dye job that made it tricky to balayage smoothly over, but he took the time to do it right, and I love the results. Thank you!! I'll be back for my next color touch up.

May 2021- adhering to social distancing only seating at every other chair, mask required. Cutting Edge is a clean, quick, no frills salon for men and women cuts. They do Japanese digital straightening and curling, as well as coloring services. They are priced a bit higher for Chinatown, but very competitively priced for downtown Manhattan.

My stylist Anthony did a wonderful job with my hair that was transitioning from a rebonding treatment. I paid $70 for a 3-inch haircut with face-framing layers, which is a very good price, given that this is a professional and clean salon equipped with Dyson hair dryers to boot.

Before today, I did some research and stumbled upon this salon which had a lot of great reviews. I called to ask about prices and if I needed an appointment. From the reassurance from the receptionist on the phone, I already gave them my trust before even arriving. Upon arriving, my stylist was Anthony. From putting the apron on me, to the consultation of what I wanted and the outcome was amazing. Anthony understood the assignment! I asked to keep my hair length as long as possible (in the most realistic way) and asked about his opinion of bangs on me and went from there. He read my mind and automatically knew I needed some weight off my head because I had a lot of hair, heavy at that. My experience was so much fun. I wasnt nervous at all coming to a new place to get a cut. Anthony made me feel comfortable and at ease. He knows what to do! I almost cant wait til I need a touch up!

Marco is amazing and takes the time to get to know his clients, absolutely top notch place, an oasis of calm, the perfect place for anyone to enjoy one of the best cuts available in the city.
