Lovely place on the high street with lots of choice on the menu. The cortado was nice. However, for a full veggie fry up at £11.95, I was disappointed to see only one hash brown, one small toast, a very small portion of beans, a tiny veggie sausage and what only could have been 6 spinach leaves on my plate. The mushrooms and eggs were fine.
I would go back to try other things on the menu but for a fry up there's many other places in the area.

Excellent coffee & brunch spot, wide menu, many vegan and vegeterian options available. Delicious pastry and the nicest staff!
Really lovely waiter service - prompt but friendly. Had a side order of salad made with fresh ingredients to accompany my fave tuna melt panini washed down with a refreshing green smoothie. My meal ended with an oat milk cappuccino to finish - and one very happy customer.
This is my second visit and both times I've had great coffee and delicious food. There's a few vegan options on the menu but I think they need to have a few more veggie options too.
They have a nice courtyard at the back with more seating. My only criticism is that dogs are allowed to go through the narrow front door and passageway to the back. I even saw the waitress touching the dog. I would have preferred if people with dogs sat at the front courtyard instead.
Overall great food and service.
The experience at City Place is that good, that I put my knife and fork down to write this review. I had the salt beef platter, which was phenomenal, and my girlfriend had the salmon beigel. The portion sizes were generous and the quality of food second to none. It is a long time since I have sat at the end of a meal thinking wow. That clock can now be reset. My girlfriend is ridiculously picky, and not even she is complaining. All of this was accompanied by 5 star service. Would highly recommend for couples, families, babies. Everyone!
I think this place is better for cakes and coffee rather than savory food. It does have good cakes. We had a couple of toasties though, and it seemed pretty poor value, £8 for two slices of white bread, a ham slice with some cheese and some coleslaw. Would rather pay £6 at a nearby cafe, maybe Caesar's palace, for a full English breakfast.
The owner’s work here so service is pretty good considering how busy it is. Not the most relaxing place as it’s cold and chaotic with noise when full. The Berry smoothie was terrible.. just cold mush and came so quickly that it was obvious they prepared in advance. The food is good overall but small portions for the prices they charge which is understandable perhaps due to the rental they must be paying for such large premises.
Nice food and coffee. Good vegan options. Dog friendly. Better value than some places in the area. Excellent vegan pastries- these are pricey but huge and you could share easily.
