Candy has been doing my hair since she was located at Tavitos. She has had her own shop for several years now and the service is still excellent, the best scalp massage, you will find in the greater Hartford area. They are always packed so appointments are encouraged but, she does take walk-ins. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the prices are average hair salon prices. You will not be disappointed in the services here.
This place is a ripoff. First Candi, the hair salon owner tried to tell they don’t do sew ins on Saturdays... Then I get in after my boyfriend talks to her and explains that we already made an appointment, which confirmed that we were coming that day. Then I wanted a perm. She tells me it’s $90 for half a head of perm and $125 for the full head of perm. Like I’m not dumb, even the best of the best don’t charge that much. I end up getting a perm and sew in. Fast forward to 3 weeks later, my sew in tracks are coming out.. and I always wear a shower cap to shower and bonnet to sleep in. Absolutely avoid this place as they seem to only cater to a specific clientele aka other Dominican ladies.

I have been getting my hair done with the owner of Candy's for over 15 years. She is exceptionally talented and professional. What I mostly love about her salon is that she and her associates give personalized and sound advice based on your specific hair needs. They have the experience and are equipped to cater to all hair types as well as keep up with the latest trends and products. Aside from knowing I will have excellent results with every visit, the ladies at Candy's also provide a welcoming environment; making you feel like you're visiting family. I’ve been coming here for a few years, Jahira has me out in an hour with a wash, blow dry and flat iron! My hair comes out bone straight and light and I have thick curly hair! My daughter now comes here who also has thick hair! Won’t go anywhere else ????
i really liked how my blow out came out but was really surprised the lady who did my hair charged me $50 to wash and blow dry my hair.. nothing more...unfortunately thats too expensive.
now The lady who did my 9 year old daughter’s hair ..... it came out beautiful! she washed it blow dried it and cut it all for $55 dollars.
I love it here, I have been doing my hair with the owner Candy for over 14 years. Highly recommend they really do take the time to care for your needs on your hair and service.
